    If I am there,  I open it about 10 sec before it is up.   If not then it beeps until I get to it.

     I like to aim for between 10 and 5 seconds. I really don’t like the beeping.

    I always open the microwave early but it has nothing to do with the beep. It's because I am impatiend, fidgety and I have a short attention span.  Cheers!
