My whole life people thought I was Chinese.  Growing up I was asked all the time.  I found out, just in the past few years, that I had an Indian great grandmother.  I was never told this.  So, while I didn't exactly question, I knew I looked different than my other family members.  Once, when we were still fairly newlyweds, while stopped at a traffic light, the driver of the car next to us on the driver side asked my husband if he had brought me back from Viet Nam.  This went on and on up to about eight years ago.  I am no longer asked about it.

      Thank you for your answer.
Oh, by the way, you wouldn't happen to be Chinese, would you?

Yes, I asked my Mama where I came from. You won't believe what she told me.
