Thankfully our fire season hasn't started yet. I don't know if we'll get any bad ones this year - there's scarcely any fuel left to burn.

I’m in San Diego, California and about twenty-five minutes east of the Pacific Ocean. That means that ever since mid August when the worst of the wildfires began, even though we have smelled a small amount of smoke and the skies get hazy at various times throughout the days or nights, the offshore breezes blow a majority of it all to the east of us (or toward your direction, in other words).

    Yep...unfortunately
we've had it since day 1
Ash all over the cars, not good breathing conditions
at all. One really scary day heavy smoke no Sun
all just orange, it was eerie.
Wear a mask it filters out the smoke smell.

It hasn't reached NYC yet, but listening to the weather report this afternoon, they said we will be getting it because of the way the winds are blowing.  Considering that the smoke has bee non-stop and so widespread, I'm not surprised that we will be affected by it before long.

    UPDATE:

Smoke from the wildfires devastating much of the West Coast reached the Big Apple Tuesday — but the haze is so high in the sky, it should not affect air quality. “Widespread haze is likely today in NYC, as a plume of wildfire smoke from Western US wildfires moves overhead,” New York Metro Weather tweeted.

Ya we are getting a lot of smoke from Washington State. I had to take the day off work and I will probably take the rest of the week off because it is getting to my lungs and giving me headacks. It also probally ruined the taste of 15 pot plants I still had outside so I might have to make bud oil out of them. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at September 15, 2020 3:32 PM MDT
