I have noticed that no matter what the topic of a question may be, there always has to be an argument about it and I would rather avoid that. Any suggestions?
When I see someone claiming as factual something that is not, I call them on it. Ā I often/usually include links, preferably directly to the source vs. an article, as most articles spin things to their bias of choice, even when citing facts or stats. Ā And I call out people I generally agree with as often as those I don't. Ā
It has been my experience when doing so that I usually get one of two responses, either they dig their heels in and refuse to face facts or they completely ignore me. Ā Either way, anyone else reading the post can look at things for themselves...not to mention the person's reaction, or lack thereof, can tell one a lot about a person. Ā :)Ā
Well, the answers are what control the argument portion.Ā IT is up to me to not start an argument, not you.Ā You don't have that control
I do.Ā It is my bad, not yours.
Oh here is my answer.Ā I had to post another to find it.Ā I wish they would improve the answer portion of this site, that is for sure.
Probably questions like: What is you favorite Ā __________?
To annoy others I suppose.
Exactly. Trolls, the lot of them.
Indeed they are Andy!
Thank you, SS.
You're welcome. :)
maybe about something you want to know more about
You know what I mean. I mean, is your first name really Randy, or is it Randall or Randolph? Lol:)
Yes, something I want to know more about. Nice answer, pearl. Lol:)
How much do you weigh?
I don't know if you are talking about anything specific butĀ from what I noticed sometimes people are not interested in asking what makes you feel a certain way because they are not concerned with it. If that is the case don't be concerned with their feelings if they are not concerned with yours. Ask any question you want.
I don't think it's the question content, but the group setting. It's tough getting a large collection of people together for any reason without conflict.
Not every question has an argument on it. Fight me. >:0)
I have already suggested a solution to that, and not just once but several times. The best way is for all those who are on one side to interact on comment thread A, and all those who are on the other side to interact on comment thread B, and never the twain shall meet. Is that really too difficult to achieve?
Lol:)
let's not get into an argument
It is and mostly because as much as like-minds gravitate to one another, no one likes an echo-chamber. At least, not all the time. That and some folks literally thrive on conflict whether or not they want to admit to it, thus they seek out and cultivate conflict. I've watched it time and time again, a person who claims to desire a united group of civil individuals actively pursuing the exact opposite.
If people actually adhered to what they claim, it would work out fine, but many don't. If you've got an answer for that one, I'm all ears ;)
