The socialists in California and other states and cities are all following the same patterns as the Communists, Nazis, Fascists did. First, disarm the people, then they can finish the takeover of the country.
The people of some countries have disarmed themselves quite voluntary much of the time when asked to 'turn in your guns'. They were never been armed for fear of govern takeover. Seems many Americans are just so paranoid about losing their dearly beloved guns.
This probably should have been in reply to Rusureamisure.

Actually, it's not fearmongering. The Democrat party, for the most part, has been the major advocate of gun-control for decades. The good news was that the Republicans were there to stop it from being fully implemented.
Unfortunately, now that the Dems have control of both houses and the presidency, gun-control is almost certain. That is unless the Supreme Court grows a spine and does what it is supposed to do and defend the Constitution.
I see little wrong with GUN CONTROL, 'they' are not taking away ALL your guns'. In Canada we have gun control and 'everybody' still has a gun or two except any persons who are considered unsuitable to be in possession of guns. But 'course they can still buy guns illegally. I knew a guy who specialized in breaking into gunshops and taking out a bagful of guns then traveling to a different city to sell them. Dunno how he did it through all the alarm systems.
Australia assaults (40%) are up and sexual assaults (20%) are up as as well. Think that has anything to do with disarming victims?
Homicide has decreased by nine percent since 1990 and armed robbery by one-third since 2001, but recorded assaults and sexual assaults have both increased steadily in the past 10 years by over 40 percent and 20 percent respectively. The rate of aggravated assault appears to have contributed to the marked rise in recorded assault, and for both assault and sexual assault the rate of increase was greater for children aged under 15 years, with increases almost double that of the older age group.

Notice the source in my link is the Australian government.
The government already has control of the country.
That is proof of the fact that if you disarm people who are phyically unable to defend themselves they have more of a chance of being victimized. Because the criminal now know for certain their victim is a sitting duck.
That seems fine long as they are not Communist, Nazi or Fascist.
Here we were having a rash of home invasions some years ago but police activities and home owner/renter defenses soon got things under control. Nobody shot and killed. Muggings, purse snatchings here are very infrequent. Sex assaults happen occasionally.
Most people do not have to shoot to defend themselves just a possibility of being shot is enough. But if you disarm law abiding citizens the only ones with guns are the criminals.
On the one hand, you claim that the disarming of potential victims leads to increased rates of assault. On the other, you say that this increase mostly affects children under the age of 15.
Assuming those children wouldn't be walking around with guns either way, doesn't that suggest there are other reasons for those increases? Or do the perpetrators now happily commit assault in front of bystanders, knowing the bystanders don't have firearms?

You conveniently left this part out - and you didn't even have to read past the headline and the second sentence:
"The following handgun models whose certification has expired or otherwise removed from the Roster. These models may no longer be sold, offered for sale, or manufactured in California."
