You know that awesome feeling when you hear a song that you love but had completely fallen off your radar?

Do you remember a song that had happened with and would you post it if you do?

Here's mine. Also, I may have asked this question before. I've got that deja vu feeling going on.

Yep I know the feeling well and felt it the other day when I heard - New Age Girl  by Deadeye Dick on the collage radio station. I hadn't heard it in years and it was just as cool as the first time I heard. Cheers!

Wow. I've heard that song, but I've never really listened to it and now I love, love, love it!

Thank you, Nanoose. And cheers, cheers, cheers! :)

“Stumblin' In” by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro, 1978.

    Lyrics:
Our love is alive, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in
Our love is a flame, burning within
Now and then, firelight will catch us stumblin' in
Wherever you go, whatever you do
You know these reckless thoughts of mine are following you
I'm falling for you, whatever you do
'Cause, baby, you've shown me so many things that I never knew
Whatever it takes, baby, I'll do it for you
Our love is alive, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in
Our love is a flame, burning within
Now and then firelight will catch us, stumblin' in
    (Come on, stumblin' in)
You were so young, and I was so free
And I may have been young but, baby, that's not what I wanted to be
    (Yeah, that's quite right)
    You were the one
    Oh, why was it me?
Baby, you've shown me so many thing I'd never see
Whatever you need, baby, you've got it from me
    (Alright)
Our love is alive, come on, and so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in
Our love is a flame burning within
Now and then, firelight will catch us stumblin' in
    (Come on)
    Stumblin' in, stumblin' in
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in
Oh, stumblin' in, mm, stumblin' in
Now and then, firelight will catch us stumblin' in
Oh, I'm stumblin' in, I'm just stumblin' in
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in
Oh, stumblin' in, ooh stumblin' in
Now and then, firelight will catch us stumblin' in
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in

“Shadow Dancing” by Andy Gibb, 1978.

    Lyrics:
You got me looking at that heaven in your eyes
    I was chasing your direction
I was telling you no lies
    And I was loving you
When the words are said, baby, I lose my head
And in a world of people, there's only you and I
There ain't nothing come between us in the end
How can I hold you when you ain't even mine
Only you can see me through
I leave it up to you
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
All that I need is just one moment in your arms
    I was chasing your affection
I was doing you no harm
    And I was loving you
Make it shine, make it rain, baby I know my way
I need that sweet sensation of living in your love
I can't breath when you're away, it pulls me down
You are the question and the answer am I
Only you can see me through
I leave it up to you
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
And in this world of people there's only you and I
There ain't nothing come between us in the end
Ah, can I hold you when you ain't even mine
Only you can see me through
I leave it up to you
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor
Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more
Do it light, taking me through the night
Shadow dancing, baby you do it right
Give me more, drag me across the floor

“Shake Your Groove Thing” by Peaches & Herb, 1978.

    Lyrics:
    Shake it, shake it
    Shake your groove thing,
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
Show 'em how we do it now
Let's show the world we can dance
Bad enough to strut our stuff
The music gives us a chance
We do more out on the floor
    Groovin' loose or heart-to-heart
We put in motion every single part
    Funky sounds wall to wall
We're bumpin' booties, havin' us a ball, y'all
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
    We got the rhythm tonight
All the rest know we're the best
Our shadows crash in the light
    Twistin', turnin', we keep burnin'
Shake it high or shake it low
We take our bodies where they wanna go
    Feel that beat, never stop
Oh, hold me tight, spin me like a top
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
There's nothing more that I'd like to do
Than take the floor and dance with you
    Keep dancin', let's keep dancin'
    Shake it, shake it
    Shake it, shake it
    Groovin' loose or heart-to-heart
We put in motion every single part
    Funky sounds wall to wall
We're bumpin' booties, havin' us a ball, y'all
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now
    Shake your groove thing
Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah
Show 'em how we do it now, yeah
    Shake it
Show 'em how we do it now, yeah
    Shake it, shake it
    Shake it
    Doo, doo, doo, wow
    Shake it
    Doo, doo, doo, wow
    Shake your groove thing
    Shake your groove thing
Show 'em how we do it now
    Let's get on down
Show 'em how we do it now
Show 'em how we do it now
    Whoo, ooh
Show 'em how we do it now
    Shake your groove thing
    Shake it, shake it
Shake it, shake it, a bumpin' booty, now
    Shake it, shake it
Shake it, shake it, a little freaky now
    Shake it, shake it
A shake it, shake it, a do it to it, y'all

Stumblin' In is so great! The female guess guest-starred on Happy Days a few times, did you know that? She was the little sister of Leather Tuskadaro (? something like that). I heard that song for the first time in years not long ago and when I saw her I remembered seeing her on Happy Days with that mullet! Funny.

The name "Andy Gibb" sincerely came out of my mouth about an hour ago, no kidding. I was telling my son a funny story from childhood. Andy just wanted to be my everything and was my first musician crush. His death really was a tragedy (pun intended, but I was sad).

I didn't even know that was Peaches & Herb! I only ever connected them to 'Reunited'. I like Groove Thing.

Here's one that you might not have heard for a while, if you even know it. I discovered it on my 70s Music Choice channel pretty recently. It was totally new to me and I like it! My first knowledge of Billy Ocean was 'Loverboy' and 'Caribbean Queen', or maybe the song he did for a movie I can't think of right now. Adventure type movie with Michael Douglas, I think. I didn't know of him in the 70s.

    (Tuscadero.)
No, I wasn’t aware of Suzi Quatro’s backstory. I know I was intrigued about her last name, so I looked her up (pre-internet), but I don’t remember what all I found. It probably wasn’t much. I have vague memories of “Happy Days”, I didn’t know she has appeared on it. I do, however, remember Leather’s mullet. Lol.

So Andy Gibb was one of your celebrity crushes. One of these days I’ll have to compile a list of the celebrity women who were my crushes and pose a question asking others to name theirs.

”Reunited” was my mother’s personal favorite for a while. (Her all-time favorite is Gladys Knight and The Pips singing “Midnight Train To Georgia “.) I didn’t realize it at the time because I was way too young, but “Reunited” touched her so much because it had something to do with her attempts to get back together with my stepfather.

In the late 80s, I researched Billy Ocean and was surprised to learn that he had enjoyed homegrown success and had wide fame long before branching out to the US. The theme song you’re thinking of is from the movie “The Jewel of the Nile”, it’s called, “When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going”.  The movie is the sequel to “Romancing The Stone”.

Yes, that's the movie I was thinking of! I've never seen all of either of them; or if I have, I don't recollect it. I did see them in "War of the Roses". Several times. That movie amuses me.

Did you like that Billy Ocean song I posted?

I like Midnight Train to Georgia a lot. You'll laugh, but I think I first heard that song on an episode of 'Growing Pains'! I'm not kidding! If I'd heard it before, it hadn't registered in my brain until then.

I hope your mother found happiness and fulfillment in her life. This post was edited by SavvyAnsley at June 9, 2021 8:23 PM MDT

Suzi is my better half's favourite female artist and she's headlining a gig we have tickets to next month.
I've often wondered what possessed her to take up bass guitar as her instrument. Female bass players are rare, and those that do are usually far more solidly built - people like Michael Steele (The Bangles) and Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads) are big, husky girls. Suzi is tiny, the instrument would weigh half of what she does.

I like that song, and INXS. Always makes me a little sad, seeing a video or image. RIP, Michael Hutchence.

I love that video, though. Really takes me back! :)

Yes, hearing Michael and INXS always has a tinge of sadness for me, too. I like their stuff. Yes, RIP, Michael Hutchence.
Similar emotions happen for me with Alice in Chains, too, and Layne Staley.

It's appropriate that the Port Adelaide FC has an INXS song (Never Tear Us Apart) as the club's "unofficial anthem" - reminds them come play-offs time that their team is also a bunch of choking w**nkers. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at June 9, 2021 6:33 PM MDT

I admit I'm unsure from where you're coming - - we both know I don't get jokes a lot of the time. But, it seems to be a joke, and it seems that you're not a fan of the group or Hutchence.
But I still like the group and Hutchence.  :)

Hoping it's not a reference to his death. If so, I can laugh at morbid humor at times. But today's just been a rough day for me, though. And I had a good friend take his own life a bit over a year ago. Think of him often.

And if I'm way off track with your reply, I'm sorry. And consider the source - - I'm often in my own world when it comes to humor, ha!

I like the band, and sing three of their numbers on occasion when doing Karaoke (Original Sin, Burn For You and Need You Tonight).
Hate that football club and their use of the song annoys me no end - so I make very sarcastic comments about it.

    I get that, thanks.
I, too, can get annoyed when music I like gets used in annoying-to-me ways.  :)

You've made me want to look up those other INXS songs now. :)

Weezer is way cool . I used to work with this gal who had a  Mary Tyler Moore hair cut  so whenever  I put my safty glasses on I would sing - ooh I look just like Buddy Holly and you are Mary Tyler Moore but I don't care about that. Then sometimes she would do that qwivering  type of voice Mary did  when she got upset  and  say  - ooh Rob. Cheers

I remember your posting  this before! :)  :)   [ Or someone did.]
Did they appear on the show? It makes no sense to me that they would have, yet it certainly looks like a scene directly from the show.  :)

I don't really know if that song was performed on Happy Days. I remember her singing a different song. I couldn't recall what it was so I looked it up and it made me laugh because I immediately remembered my sister and I thought it was "Devil Dog Drive" because of that horror movie called "Devil Dog: Hound from Hell".

I'm going to find the post I was actually looking for. I just saw another missed reply. :)

Toad the Wet Sprocket's entire "dulcinea" album, even though that is obviously more than just one song

Dulcinea - Toad the Wet Sprocket | Songs, Reviews, Credits | AllMusic

"Something's Always Wrong" is on that album - - it was a pretty big hit, I think. I really like the song, along with the entire album
