    Depends on the topic.
Most times I will just skim it. This post was edited by my2cents at May 6, 2021 6:03 PM MDT

     (more than one long paragraph)

This portion of your question that is enclosed in parentheses is not a separate nor new sentence, therefore, the first word should not be capitalized and it requires no ending punctuation.

Aside from Randy D, I'll not read past the first sentence when I see how long the message is. As for actually responding to it, I probably will not. This post was edited by Zack at May 7, 2021 6:03 PM MDT

Sorry, this question was too long and I didn't read it all the way through.

There are factors in which my take on it differs. Truth be told, there are certain topics, slants, angles, lengths, ways of writing, authors, etc. that determine for me whether or not I will read any or all of a long answer or whether or not I give a response.

I am also well aware that I am often the person posting long answers or comments, and as such I acknowledge other people have similar views as mine as to whether or not they like them.

As a general rule, unless the topic is of real interest to me, I don't read it all.  I'm waiting for the Reader's Digest Condensed version of the history of the ladder.

  • I'd read it all and respond. They're taking the time to answer my question after all.

That’s if you posted the question, right? What about long answers or long comments to other members’ posts?

  • Hmm...I suppose I definitely don't give it the same level of attention if it's not my own post. Perhaps just a quick skim to see if it's anything relatable that I'd feel inclined to respond to.

It actually depends on many factors.  1. Do I have the time.  2. Is it something I... SQUIRREL!

I made another error, (repone) but I can't edit it. I hope the site isn't going to screw up again.

Why can’t you edit it?  I’m sure that’s just a dodge.

Try the word “reply” instead of “response”.

Never!  If I'm interested to read that much I go to an authority.  The new people here are copy/pasting answers pages long.  I hope they read this and chill.

If it's a subject I'm interested in, lengthy or not, I'll read the whole response and will sometimes respond to it. I can get a bit long-winded myself, so it's not a problem for me. :) This post was edited by rusureamisure? at May 7, 2021 5:31 PM MDT

    TL;DR

Actually it depends on how interesting the writer is being, and how interested I am in the subject - I'm a bit of a polymath.

If it's my question, I'll read it. Other than that, it depends on the subject and author for the most part.
