When did you first traveled by airplane?

I was 12-years-old when my family boarded an airplane that took us from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles

Wait, you were the only two people on the plane? Ok, which one of you was the pilot and which one was the copilot?

I have never traveled by airplane (and have no intention of ever doing it either).

  • I became a flight attendant when I was 19.  I never travelled on a plane before that.  My first flight was from Buenos Aires (Jorge Newberry Airport) to Trelew.

I was five, and didn't go anywhere other than up, around and down. A Cessna with my uncle at the controls. That's when I was bitten by the flying bug. An itch I never got to scratch.

I was 18 years old, I flew to San Diego to go to boot camp, the Dept of Defense paid for the airline tickets, there were 17 of us headed for the Marine Corps, and I don’t know how many were headed for the Navy.

Back then, the Marine Corps‘ and the Navy‘s San Diego boot camp bases were located right next to each other, separated for some portions of their territory by fences. The Navy closed its San Diego recruit training command in 1997, after 74 years of operation (1923).  The Marine Corps has continually maintained recruit training in San Diego since 1919, or 102 years.

I was under 5 yrs old.  I do not know where we flew. It was my Aunt and Uncle's plane.  I only remember looking out the window.

Twenty years old.  I got on a plane in New York City to Iceland.  From there Luxembourg.  I've never been so scared in my life.  I'm sure my heart beat was irregular until a couple days after we landed in Europe.
