Do you have a favorite weather song about weather you don't like?

(inspired by a great already-posted question but I won't ruin by telling)

'I Can See Clearly Now"              Johnny Nash

" I can see clearly now the rain is gone . . . gone are the dark clouds that had me blind . . ."

I much prefer cloudy, rainy weather

Are the thunder sounds in the song itself? I like the thunder sounds.

wait wait wait . . . I admit I do not like the music video at all.
I never heard the song before just now- - I like it, I like the lyrics, I was listening as the song went along but the visuals in the video, for me, go needlessly WAY beyond about what he sings.
I guess I missed the lyrics about grabbing the gun out of the drawer, murdering my husband in front of our daughter, the cops pulling into the front yard -- But I'm sure Brooks is okay with the video - - he's standing in the street in front of the house at the end looking at the camera. It all lessened the song's strength for me.

That was all my guttural reaction to it all. Basically, I think the song is better than the video. In some ways, perhaps it's a good video if I reacted that strongly. Yet, I'll stick to the song itself. :)

    Thanks for answering my question.

When it came out CMT refused to play it. MTV played  it.
For some reason,  I thought the song had the wife defending against domestic violence.  But I pulled up the lyrics and no it was a repeatedly cheating spouse.

He has another song with the Dad being cheated on...."Momma's in Graveyard, Papa's in the Pin."  I don't  know if it is a consistent  theme or not in his music.

Thanks, my2cents. That's really interesting to me what you've added.  :)

I was just getting ready to apologize for my post up there. I know you like the song (I do, too) and I didn't want to maybe come across so strongly -- it's just that the visuals hit me hard while experiencing the song for the first time.

No need to apologize.  We all have our likes and dislikes.

The world would be a better place if more people were quicker to apologize.

I thought you just said he didn’t need to apologize?

    He did not.

I did not mention Welby in my response to you. I said people.

That was not my response to you. That is me talking to Welby.
I do not and will not discuss users with other users here.

There’s been a sort of running joke that Welby and I have about his constant second-guessing of himself, one aspect of it is apologizing a lot for things that might not necessarily require an apology.  When I wrote above, “He always apologizes,” I didn’t mean it in any other way than to carry on the kidding around that he and I engage in, nor did I mean it negatively.

What RandyD posted about my second-guessing myself and apologizing a lot are what I was going to post for you, too.

Do know I respect your posts here, too. Do know I'm good with it all.  :)

I'd probably be apt to apologize wherever I lived.  :)
