Do you have a favorite weather song about weather you don't like?

(inspired by a great already-posted question but I won't ruin by telling)

'I Can See Clearly Now"              Johnny Nash

" I can see clearly now the rain is gone . . . gone are the dark clouds that had me blind . . ."

I much prefer cloudy, rainy weather

I always wondered why Little Sally just didn't go outside and play in the rain -- I always did!
    :)

I lost count of the amount of songs here.    As it says, definitely a "medley." :)

I guess I never thought of my error  that way but that makes sense. I'll leave it for fun.  :)

“Same Auld Lang Syne” by Dan Fogelberg, 1981.

    LYRICS:

Met my old lover in the grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
I stole behind her in the frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve
She didn't recognize the face at first
But then her eyes flew open wide
She went to hug me and she spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried
We took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totaled up and bagged
We stood there lost in our embarrassment
    As the conversation dragged
Went to have ourselves a drink or two
But couldn't find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at the liquor store
And we drank it in her car
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
    But neither one knew how
She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie
I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I
    Saw doubt or gratitude
She said she saw me in the record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
    But the traveling was hell
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
    But neither one knew how
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
    Reliving in our eloquence
    Another 'auld lang syne'
The beer was empty and our tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away
Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
    The snow turned into rain

    I love that song!

After listening to entire song, that last line often gives me literal chills.

I can be strangely emotional at times -- and the first 30 seconds of the video looked pretty heavy for me at the moment. And I see its a nine-minute song - - I'm thinking it may get heavier. Looks like I might like it, though. Offhand, I don't know if I know the song by its title but I know a lot of Guns N'Roses.  Maybe I'll know it when I listen.

I ended up watching the entire video and song.
I did not know this song nor video
With those first images of the music video -- I accurately predicted how it would progress.

I liked the song and music video but (to the song's and video's credits) I admit I did not enjoy either.

I know, ha. But it makes total sense to me.  :)

I respect the song and video. I like the quality of the song/music/music video -- but, for me, I didn't enjoy because of the emotions the music and video created in me when I watched and listened.

It's very much like the movie "The Shawshank Redemption." I know countless people who watch that movie over and over and over again. They love it so.
I, too, admire, like and respect the movie's qualities - - but I don't enjoy watching the movie at all because it's emotionally overwhelming for me. I've seen the movie a total of three times (including one time for research-only reasons).

:)   Thanks, Randy D. Was here a bit earlier but forgot to sign out, doing other things. I came back to officially sign out and saw your reply here.  I appreciate your kindness about what I thought was sort of weird about me that I wrote up there, thanks.  I sort of shake my head at myself sometimes, ha.  :)

Over six months later - - related to my other reply - - geez, it surely took me a long time to get fresh, ha. Sorry.

I don't think I've heard this song until now. I like it. I really like the last ten seconds of the video, too (the image freeze and the rain sounds  - my favorite kind of weather).

New Zealand band, contemporaries of Split Enz. They had some great sounds across the ditch in the 80s.
