Did you know that people born in 33 were 45 in 78?

  • I suppose that's true. I'm sure there's a reason why 78 RPM is 33 more RPM than 45, but I don't know why those speeds were chosen specifically.

    (Are there no other vinyl fans here?)

    I've never actually seen a 16rpm. My mother had a few 78s that she had inherited from my grandmother.
    I used to have a stack of 45s half my height, until my son, then aged three, got to them ...

    Most of the 16 rpm records were used for talking books and mostly used in the 1950's.
