Nope. My family still needs me.

Well, duh.  Kind of hard to do anything when you're dead. (let's ask that stiff if it has any regrets.  Gee, it's not answering... I wonder why?)

I'm afraid that my whole life is about regrets. I'll die a painful death.

You can rise above your petty emotions. You can do it.

Why use the word “petty”. That seems to belittle his emotions and/or belittle him for having them.

I made many mistakes and have and equal amount of regrets.   I will never make those mistakes again but they cost me dearly in my life.

I dropped my first girlfriend. I lost my lifetime job. I lost my favorite apartment. My words will never coalesce enough to explain the trouble I've seen. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at July 18, 2021 5:33 AM MDT

I have no regrets.  Any mistakes I made along the way are what made me who and what I am today and I can live with that.

I’ve never shared this with anyone before, but in many ways, I really believe I’m ready to go. That does not, however, directly translate into having zero regrets. Certain regrets will always be there because they can’t be changed, or because they’re not associated with my impending death. For instance, I found out about it way too late, but I could have joined the Marines as as officer rather than as an enlisted man. Nothing can change the past, so that regret can’t be changed. Other regrets come and go because they’re about things that can be addressed. I maintain a level of physical fitness that contributes to my current state of health, which is better than that of the average man of my age. Had I not started doing so in my late thirties, I might not be in the shape I am in today, but I do regret that I didn’t start back in my preteens or teen years. I might have been even further along if it had been more of a lifelong norm for me.

So regardless of if I go tomorrow or in twenty years or in forty years, there will be some regrets.
