Sheriff, or sheriff’s deputy. I only ask because many people refer to the officers of a sheriff’s department as sheriffs when in fact they are deputies, there is only one person who is the actual sheriff.

Not only do I know many men and women in that profession, I am one of them myself, now retired.

Lol, I’m GPF for life, homie! Blood in, blood out! I can’t even imagine not being a grammar enforcement officer, so you don’t have to worry about me ever disappearing. Even this self-imposed moratorium shall pass and I’ll be back on the beat. Too many scofflaws are out there endangering the language for me to turn in my badge and citation book permanently. Grrrrrrr.

I didn’t miss it, how could I have if I pointed out to you that it’s there?
Have you forgotten that I’m on sabbatical due to the moratorium and therefore I cannot carry out any enforcement measures? Some partner. Grrrrrrr.
Deputy “Bernadette” Fife? Lol.
