Why don't we ever discuss Canadian politics? Has Trudeau never mucked anything up? Is it really that boring?

Eh?

  • "Boring" sounds wonderful compared to what we had to go through over the past several years!
I'm not sure Canada is boring ... but rather more "put together" than we in the US have been lately.  Not as much in-fighting and nonsense up North.

Cold climate makes people saner, that's all. Compare the Scandinavian countries to the southern middle East countries.

Was "the body" any worse than Dubya in Texas? Or the Governator in California, who was surprisingly liberal for a Republican?

Besides a few fashion mistakes like wearing Argyle socks with running shoes our Prime Mister hasen't mucked up. The reason for that might be because Canada is a Parliamentary Democracy. In a Parliamentary Democracy if the leader does something that causes the people and the Parliament to lose faith in their ability to run the country a vote of confidenceach is taking in Parliament and if the Prime Minister loses the vote they will be replaced. Pretty sure that if Trudeau started calling the leader of North Korea Rocket man one week then the next week say that he would rain down fire on NK then the next week send Kim a Rocket Man CD and then the next week tell the World that he and Kim are in love - Trudeau would be removed from office. Cheers and happy weekend! This post was edited by Nanoose at August 8, 2021 6:44 AM MDT

The downside of that is the musical chairs that has happened in another Parliamentary Democracy, namely Australia. No leader in the past decade and a half has even been allowed by his own party to lead it to a general election after winning the previous one. Scummo is likely to cop a hiding next year, I doubt that even Murdererdoch can save him. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at August 9, 2021 6:44 AM MDT
