My favorite kind of pie is pumpkin. I dislike apple pie and other pies made with cooked fruits - they all taste the same to me and are kind of boring. But cream pies are also boring and pecan pie is disgusting.  Come to think of it, the only pies I like are pumpkin and mince.

When I was a kid/ teen pumpkin was my favourite pie and always looked forward to Thanksgiving because it’s the traditional  dessert served for this holiday in my family. I don’t know exactly when or why but I’ve been turned off pumpkin pie for a long while now. I love cooked  fruit pies and apple is one of my favourites currently. Apple pie was one I didn’t favour as a child because of the texture of the apples. Maybe once I entered the matrix in 2012 my taste buds flipped.

I'm with Jane S about pumpkin pie. Actually, though, rhubarb pie is my favorite but I like pumpkin pie a lot.  :)

I like the picture you posted.

OMG!!! That is my EXACT pet peeve -- "Can I please have a rhubarb pie with no strawberries?" !

    :)

    You are so right.

I talked about it one time and a friend surprised me by baking me one from scratch! Even the crust! It was DELICIOUS!

My pie was much better than this picture (which stlll looks great to me) - - but guess what? I Googled Imaged "rhubarb pie" and only about three of the pictures were rhubarb pie - - all the rest were - -  you guessed it- - strawberry rhubarb pie.
Why would Google assume I wanted strawberry in there?

Balfour's square meat pie, needs tomato sauce to overcome the blandness.

Also, does anybody actually eat banana cream pies? From what I can tell, their only use is as props in slapstick movies - they're for hitting people in the face with.

I don’t eat meat from cow or pigs and haven’t since I was about 14 years old so I’ve never tried this. I do love chicken pot pie though, only when I make it. I haven’t made this in soooo long and now I’m craving it. Thanks remind me it’s about time I make this again:) And true, I’ve never tried banana cream pie or seen it served anywhere. It‘s a prop.

Beef pies are an Australian thing, picked up from the Brits who for some reason get things backwards - the eat their pies cold and drink their beer warm rather than the other way around. Some British beers are drinkable, Bass is quite good but not the way the Poms serve it, which is room temperature. Beer should never be consumed above 4C/39F. Pies on the other hand have to be hot enough to liquefy the gravy.

lol yeah cold pies and warm beer sounds wrong. They get fish and chips right though so we can forgive them the pie and beer issue.

Nope.  Do you know that for the pie in face humor they normally just use whipped cream only?
Never waste a good banana creme pie.

It is the most boring because it is orange and orange clashes with most other colors so you can't add things to it to improve its looks and taste. Cheers and happy weekend!

That’s probably why I don’t like it, clashes with my outfit. Cheers:)

The crust has to be good.  I knew a woman, Ruby who was a cook at a restaurant.  Her pies were the best I've ever tasted.  It was the crust that was exceptional.  Light and flakey with a great taste, she used real butter or margarine.

    Pumpkin pie is gross!  Yuck!

Lemon meringue isn't too bold, but at least it tastes better.

Lemon pie is good, hold the meringue because I don’t understand what the point of it is.

The point of meringue on a lemon pie is color pairing. Meringue can be toasted to a golden brown which sets off  the yellow color of the pie filling. Cheers and happy weekend!

I think pumpkin is ok.  I prefer ice cream pumpkin pie.  We don't bother with regular pumpkin anymore.

I do not like any meat pie.
