  • Yes, I've had many good experiences hiking, mountain biking, and camping over the years. Mostly in the Sierra Nevadas.

    I have never actually camped within the confines of a forest but at the edge of a lake nearby a forest a couple of times.

    Thousands of times. Most recently hiking at Comaum in the Coonawarra.

    I grew up in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, we spent 'most every afternoon in the bush as kids. Mum made us take the dog in summer - it was snake country.

    I find hiking in the forest to be very enjoyable.  I've hiked this section of the Pacific Crest Trail many times.
