Out of the millions of people who watch football games on television and to those in attendance, I'm sure someone cares about John 3:16. Just as people have been caring about John 3:16 for 2000 years. And you not caring and many others not caring will never change that. :)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
People have been waving signs for decades and people have loved seeing it and people have hated seeing it for decades. They have a right to exercise their 1st Amendment right by holding up a sign just as you have the right to exercise yours by complaining about it. So who is correct? The sign waver or you? Or does the 1st Amendment apply to all citizens equally? That said, I can see where constantly blocking one's view of the game with a sign, regardless of what it says, could get annoying. Other than that, I personally have no problem with the John 3:16 signs. :)
Duh. I'm aware of the first amendment. There's no need to copy and paste it as if you are teaching. I'm not questioning anybody's rights. I'm questioning the purpose and necessity of it. It's as if they think everyone should buy into Christianity, so they advertise, instead of believing what they believe and leaving the rest of us alone.

I don't know what that is. I'll have to look it up. I looked it up. I agree; who cares, as long as it doesn't block the view of fans behind them.

I agree there may be better ways to witness for one's faith but I find it all okay. Someone out there may see it, look it up, and . . . that might be a sign holder's intent.
I see signs of all kinds at sporting events and I really do very much like this one. Wish I had thought of it. :)
No one cares? You did enough to post a question. It planted a seed in your mind which is exactly what the sign is supposed to do. How is grows depends on the soil it fell upon.
