Weird is spelled weird. Was that done on purpose?

It doesn’t follow the normal rule.

    Your last grammar ticket from Stu was the inspiration for this question.  I think that unlike parking tickets, you can actually ignore grammar tickets.  If I’m wrong about that, you didn’t hear it from me.

    I think I’ll start telling my kids “I before e, except after c, unless it’s weird.”  That won’t help with all those other exceptions, but at least they should get weird right.
