Will a independent presidential candidate win in 2024?

I just read that 58% of Americans would support a independent presidential candidate in 2024 instead of Trump or Biden. Cheers!

    I think I might have a better chance of matching all six numbers on MegaMillions tonight AND matching all six numbers on PowerBall tomorrow night than an independent candidate has of winning the next presidential election.

    I doubt it.  Third parties usually do worse in elections where there’s a lot of hate for both the Democratic and Republican candidates.  All it does is motivate people to turn out and vote against the candidate they hate more instead of voting for a third party.

    Won't happen, but a high-profile independent can still affect the result. I was quite surprised that the GOP didn't run a "dummy" candidate to split the anti-Trump vote. The only reason Biden won is that he's not The Donald, he had absolutely nothing else to recommend him.
    Nader successfully torpedoed Gore's run in 2000.
