Discussion»Questions»Legal» Should non-US citizens be affforded US constitutional rights if they are arrested for a crime? (Note: I may have asked this before.)
Why should they not have the right to be protected from unlawful search and seizure, the right not to incriminate themselves, the right to an attorney, habeas corpus, the right to a fair and speedy trial and a jury trial?

So they have to prove they bought something to recieve rights? A tourist's child who has no money....has no rights?
According the the Constitution, a person who is under the jurisdiction of the USA gets Constitutional rights. So if the person is expected to follow our laws.....they recieve our rights. (Unless the right is specifically limited to citizens of the USA.)
