Tell me about it!!!  As I stated in my response to Welby, this is not my picture but a pull from the internet.  If something like this came out of my microwave, it would have gone right into the trash!  Even the doggy dish would be too refined for this abomination!

The restaurant(s) that Welby mentions or that mess above?

Skyline chili. It's a popular local dish available at the Reds' ballpark and other places.

Having eaten at the restaurants in person, I prefer to eat there in person. Haven't tried the frozen. I'm wondering if the person who took the picture is purposely trying to make it look as bad as possible. Even on a dirty counter.  :)

For me, the food itself is very good that I've eaten.
And the chili isn't purple like it looks on the carton on my screen.  :)

EDIT: Again, I haven't eaten the frozen. And wrote about it over the thread. You an bevo are right - - the picture doesn't look so good.

I think I may need a lot of new things.  :)

Maybe not purple but to me the chili on the package looks a noticeably different color than the actual food pictured below it.

I'm here in defense of Skyline Chili.

There's a Skyline Chili restaurant near me. It's one of my favorite restaurants. Their 5-Way Chili - - the chili with onions and beans over spaghetti with lots of shredded cheese on top. Wondrous for me!

I've not had their frozen foods but I've seen them in stores and the packages clearly state (this package says "3-Way") that you must supply and add your own shredded cheese.

Admittedly,  Skyline Chili is not for everyone. And unlike the rest of the food at most restaurants, it tastes like nothing else. Skyline Chili is certainly for me.

Goodbye - - I'll now get sent to Penalty for spamming. (That's the reason I got kicked off the last time. That was Answerbag, though.)

LOL... no harm done.  This actually isn't even my picture.  I just googled "frozen meals cover vs reality" and this picture really caught my attention for some reason.  I'm sure Skyline is an incredible restaurant and makes highly appetizing foods.  I just thought this pic illustrated just how disappointing some frozen dinners can actually be.

I wrote to SavvyAnsley, too, about the picture.

Thanks for your kind reply .I was in a rough mood last night. Didn't mean to come across mad or anything.  I just truly love the restaurant's 5-Way Chili.  :)

I don't like communicating only in written words sometimes.  Be Well  :)

This is either on the borderline of being an apology, or it’s a cleverly disguised apology, right?

You are probably right on both counts.
I let fear get to me sometimes, especially in the mornings.
I don't know why I can get this way. I don't' see myself as a stereotypical 'people pleaser' -- I am definitely my own person. I can state my opinion and thoughts -  it's just then I can think people will be mad at me.

I remember a cooking show went to Skyline in Cinci.

I never watch cooking shows. I do know that Cinci is where the restaurant started.
I love the taste of the chili. I can go nowhere to get the taste other than the restaurant. for me, I've tasted nothing that even comes close to the unique flavor.

I was a few times back in the 70s but that was before they  perfected the science to making frozen meals. We usally have one frozen meal a week and I always enjoy them. Cheers!

No. A frozen meal can‘t do any harm. It’s only disappointing after being defrosted. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at July 21, 2022 6:05 PM MDT
