    Make it even less effort.  If it’s snowing on Halloween night, just bend down, make a snowball and put it in the kid’s Halloween bucket.

    I agree.  The teens sometimes came to the door with a paper grocery bag.    A few times I told those big kids they were too old to ask me for candy....they should be out walking the streets making sure the little kids were OK.

    We’d give adults candy if they had a bucket.  We’re pretty liberal with Halloween treats at my house.  If they made the effort to come all the way out to my house, might as well just reward them for it, lol.
