That looks delicious and would go well with my old family recipe for tap water on the rocks!

I know it’s not your fault or doing, but there’s a typographical error on that can’s label. Grrrrrrr.

You’re right, and upon closer inspection just now, I see a second one: it’s its. Grrrrrrr.

"It's" versus "its" has always been one of the easiest grammar points for me to remember.

My mom's ice cube trays were always empty. When someone would complain about it, her standard answer was that she lost the recipe.

My family has a recipe we call Tire Patchin'.
One Christmas, back in the '50s, my mom wanted to make some fruit cake. Unfortunately, she didn't have all the ingredients necessary, so she improvised. At the dinner that she first served it, my father took one bite and said, "You could  patch tires with this stuff." It was the texture. It was really a delicious chewy combination of a molasses cake with dates and nuts. It was very popular when my brothers were drafted and sent overseas. My mom sent them packages of Tire Patchin' that always arrived intact. It was very popular with the troops. We still try to get someone to make it when the holidays roll around each year.

If you are going to eat hot dogs, and it applicable to hamburgers too, put the cooked hot dog on toasted bread and pour on simmered butter sauce with whatever added ingredients you can creatively add to it. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at November 4, 2022 7:44 PM MDT
