Do you think Trump will bring back the guillotine?

It has been reported that Trump has talked about bringing back death by firing squad, by hanging, and by guillotine if he is re-elected. His reasoning is that it would be more dramatic than the lethal injection method. I bet Trump has dreams of being in a photo op with him holding up a severed head. Cheers!

Yesterday I was thinking about the Central Park 5 case. The Central Park 5 case was about 5  black and Latino youths that were accused of raping and  assaulting a white woman in Central park. Ever day for 2 weeks Trump took out front page adds in news papers demanding that the central park 5 be giving the death penalty even though they were youths at the time. Eventually the central park 5 confessed  and they started serving prison time. Awhile after that another person confessed to the crime and the central park 5 were released. It also turned out that the reason they confessed was because the cops interrogated them 24 hours a day for 2 days and they confessed to make the interrogation stop. They never received an apology from Trump because he had demand they be put to death. Instead Trump still kept insisting that they were guilty and they should still be giving the death penalty. So I don't think Trump should ever be in a position to bring back the guillotine. Cheers and happy weekend! This post was edited by Nanoose at February 19, 2023 8:43 AM MST

Not just a white woman in Central Park. Her name is Trisha Meili, my classmate in the MBA program we attended.

It is likely that her being a white woman was what it was all about with Trump. There were lots of black woman assaulted and raped by white men in central park. But Trump never took out any ads demanding they be put to death.

That happened in 1988, and I care more about my friend and how her injuries still affect her than anything Trump did 35 years ago.
