With your consent, a camera crew films your waking hours* for 60 days, how many days into it before you might be able to fully ignore them?
*With the exception of utterly personal and obviously private moments.
The idea of ignoring them is that there is not supposed to be any interaction between you and them, you’re expected to carry on your normal routine as if they are not even there. ~
Hi Honey Dew, I was unsure of which song you meant, so here are the song lyrics to both songs. They both work as poetry to me, too. But I admit I'm incredibly biased when it comes to Anderson and Jones. :)
"O Superman" Laurie Anderson
O Superman. O judge. O Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad. O Superman. O judge. O Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad. Hi. I'm not home right now. But if you want to leave a message, just start talking at the sound of the tone. Hello? This is your Mother. Are you there? Are you coming home? Hello? Is anybody home? Well, you don't know me, but I know you. And I've got a message to give to you. Here come the planes. So you better get ready. Ready to go. You can come as you are, but pay as you go. Pay as you go.
And I said: OK. Who is this really? And the voice said: This is the hand, the hand that takes. This is the hand, the hand that takes. This is the hand, the hand that takes. Here come the planes. They're American planes. Made in America. Smoking or non-smoking? And the voice said: Neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
'Cause when love is gone, there's always justice. And when justive is gone, there's always force. And when force is gone, there's always Mom. Hi Mom!
So hold me, Mom, in your long arms. So hold me, Mom, in your long arms. In your automatic arms. Your electronic arms. In your arms. So hold me, Mom, in your long arms. Your petrochemical arms. Your military arms. In your electronic arms.
"New Song" Howard Jones
"New Song"
I've been waiting for so long To come here now and sing this song Don't be fooled by what you see Don't be fooled by what you hear
This is a song to all of my friends They take the challenge to their hearts Challenging preconceived ideas Saying goodbye to long standing fears
Don't crack up Bend your brain See both sides Throw off your mental chains
I don't wanna be hip and cool I don't wanna play by the rules Not under the thumb of the cynical few Or laden down by the doom crew
Don't crack up Bend your brain See both sides Throw off your mental chains
Don't crack up Bend your brain See both sides Throw off your mental chains
I've been waiting for so long To come here now and sing this song Don't be fooled by what you see Don't be fooled by what you hear
This is a song to all of my friends They take the challenge to their hearts Challenging preconceived ideas Saying goodbye to long standing fears
Don't crack up Bend your brain See both sides Throw off your mental chains

Just cameras within the day. At work, I am on camera, 8 hrs a day, six days a week. I rarely think about them.

They absolutely couldn't do it. My consent is immaterial, I handle sensitive confidential client information every minute of every working day. The crew wouldn't even get inside the building.
We'll never know because such a thing would never happen. In fact, if I did allow a camera, the "crew" would be so bored that they probably would give it up before the first day was out. Nothing to see here!
Hey guys, wait! I'll be getting up to make lunch soon!! Did you see where I set down that Readers' Digest?
