If Tucker Carlson was still on Fox would he have somehing to say about the new Barbie doll ?

On Tuesday Mattel introduced its first-ever version of the Barbie doll representing a person with Down syndrome. The new doll is part of Mattel Barbie Fashionistas line, which aims to offer kids more diverse representations of beauty and fight the stigma around physical disabilities. Pretty sure if Tucker Carlson was still on Fox he would be ranting about how awful it is that Mattel went woke like Disney and the radical left. Cheers!

Nope, you may want to look up which side (left or right) encourages abortions for down syndrome babies.

That depends on the definition of left and right.  If it’s left progressives and right conservatives then yes, it’s the left who loves abortions.  If the definition of right is neo-Nazis and white supremacists, then they’d be absolutely thrilled about abortions for Down Syndrome babies.

The racists I have come across are/were leftists....
Is down syndrome a different race???  I do not think it affects any particular race any more than another.
Nazi's are socialists....that is how they got their name:  National Socialist German Workers' Party

Authoritarian types are on both sides of the aisle.

I do agree, someone is a white supremist, they would obsoletely be a Planned Parenthood supporter.  But that would not make them right wing....

Neo-Nazis hate disabled people and homosexuals in addition to being white supremacists and anti-Semites, which was Adolf Hitler’s position.  That’s what makes them neo-Nazis.

Using the seating positions of the 1789 French National Assembly to describe political alignments in 2023 in countries that aren’t France really isn’t all that useful.  The left-to-right straight-line political spectrum seems to be shaped more like an Ω to those who are neither progressive nor conservative.

The ends share some common prescriptions for how they would rule and sometimes it’s hard to tell if their beliefs are left or right.

White supremist, antisemitism, antidisabled or homophobic people are not necessarily right wing...I know people who are some of these things and are leftists.....some people are just idiots on the left and the right. So to call them "right wing " neo nazis is simply not accurate. This post was edited by my2cents at April 27, 2023 3:57 PM MDT

The question was not related to abortions in any way.

True, but the question implied that the conservatives would reject a doll because it represented a person with down syndrome.....the conservatives do not reject a child with down syndrome (via abortion....we fight to have that child have a right to its life)

So as I said, the questioner may want to look up which side of the aisle is for saving those children and which is fine with not....

Sorry, that's too far off the topic for me.

I agree.  I’m not happy with my response but now there are enough responses under it that I would feel guilty about deleting.

The statement (how I saw it) was about if it’s the left or right that supports abortions based on Down’s Syndrome.  All I said was that it depends on how left and right are defined, then I gave an example of a group that’s considered to be on the right to some people that supports abortions for Down’s Syndrome babies.

Yes, this is way off topic for the question.  I went off into the weeds on this one.  I’m going to have to call the towing company now to get me out.  This discussion is so far off the track that it doesn’t look like it’ll be an easy recovery for the towing company.

You'll be OK. We all have weak moments where I was sorry that I responded so sharply. Case in point, my interaction with Stu. It reminds me of when my bratty little brother used to kick me under the table just to see me react. This post was edited by NYAD at April 28, 2023 9:41 PM MDT

I find it amazing that an adult keeps track of such things.

I know nothing about Carlson, but adults are parents. They do try to keep up with what corporations are deciding is appropriate for younger people. I was a parent to children once.

Not all adults are parents, and not all parents are adults. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at April 28, 2023 3:49 PM MDT

So, no adults should bother to pay attention or, to have a say, they must identify themselves as parents? (or smarter than parents?) This post was edited by NYAD at April 28, 2023 6:19 PM MDT

Of course not. I just don’t see why this would be of interest to those who are not parents.
