Did you know that Trump's PAC has spent $40.2 million on legal costs to defend himself and his associates in the first half of this year?

That's more than Save America — the PAC — raised in the second quarter of 2023 and brings the group's total spending on Trump's post-presidential legal woes to around $56 million.

***

"The political action committee that former President Donald J. Trump is using to pay his legal bills faced such staggering costs this year that it requested a refund on a $60 million contribution it made to another group supporting the Republican front-runner, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The decision signals a potential money crisis for Mr. Trump, who has so far refused to pay his own voluminous bills directly and has also avoided creating a legal-defense fund for himself and people who have become entangled in the various investigations related to him."

It is about law being applied equally.  If Trump is charged for having Presidential papers (or classified docts), the BOTH Biden and Hillary should be charged.  Hillary deleted 30K emails that were on her private server.....and we are supposed to believe they were all just emails about wedding plans and yoga appointments.  Biden had classified docts in Chinatown, in his garage (of course they were safe, it was next to his corvette), at Penn State, at a beach house and who knows were else.  And he was not POTUS he had to sneak these docts out of the secure skiff in DC.  But it was ok, because he gave them back, some after 30 yrs.....

Hush money is not illegal.....it is sleazy.  But legal.  Our DC politicians have a slush fund just for that....again legal.

He did not cause J6 riot, Trump did not benefit from the riot.  Biden and the Dems did.

There is nothing illegal about contesting an election. He called for people to peacefully and patriotically....march and cheer.  And then on Twitter he told people to stay peaceful....we are the party of law and order.  Twitter censored it....

The tax thing is stupid.  You pay taxes on your income not assets.  So deflating his assets for taxes makes no sense.  If it is real estate property taxes....you do not evaluate your property the city/county does that an tells you what you owe.  If inflating for a loan, again banks do not take you word for the value. The have appraisers who evaluate the worth of your assets for the loan.  So just nonsense that she is wasting tax payers time and money.

I don't know just what the Dems think was illegal.

No point in even trying because nothing you or any of us could say would change her opinion of anything.  Just once, I would like to see her post, "My mistake, you're right," about any FACT on here.

Exactly.....she had NO Presidential powers to have those classified doctuments outside of a secure skiff in DC.   But she had them at here home. And then destroyed evidence when supenaed by the FBI.  Used BleachBit software and physically used hammers to destroy.
Trump as POTUS had rights to those docts classified or not. Hillary did not. Joe Biden before he became POTUS also did not....

But none of that has any bearing on Trump’s culpability.

The best proof of a two tier justice system in the fact that Trump was not criminally charged with stealing money from his charity or with fraud for the bogus Trump University.  Anyone else would be in prison, not paying a fine.

Many of the diversions brought up (Hunter, Clinton) have no bearing on Trump's culpability.

Or it is an expense he has his followers pay to keep his obese butt out of jail so he can continue to do corrupt things. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at August 1, 2023 10:40 AM MDT

Not all of the cases are against Trump himself.  Some are against his supporters.

Personally, I do not give money to politicians.

Two states are trying to procecute the Republican electors for being selected by the GOP in their states so they would be ready in the event of a successful election challenge in their state.
What they did was not illegal. It was the protocol for a challenged election and had bee the process for decades.

I am sure the two employees charged at Maralago are being defended. Save America says they will pay for the defense of any one who is charged with trying to defend the integrity of the 2020 election. This post was edited by my2cents at August 3, 2023 6:45 AM MDT

Pretty sure what they did was illegal and treasonous and soon it will be proven in the courts. Cheers!

No, that is how it is done.  Has been done for other contested elections since 1876.

But calling the Georgia secretary of state and asking him to fabricate 12,000 votes is a felony.

You can’t lay that off on Biden, Hillary, or anyone else.

Read the entire transcript.  He is not saying fabricate the votes. He is saying there are votes that were not counted, there are votes that were counted more than once, and votes of people who should not have been counted.
He was telling Kemp to investigate and find the fraud.  And he goes through the specific fraud allegations.
Contesting the result of an election is not a crime. Being a poor loser is not a crime.  And if it is then there are plenty of other people who need to be arrested.   Do we start with Dem politicians who protested in congress about the 2016 election?
Having a different opinion, is not illegal.

We live in a country that protects our rights to free speech even speech that others may not like or agree with. And everything Trump was protected under the 1st amendment.

Pretty sure those two were not trying to defend the integrity of the 2020 election.  They were trying to defend the butt of the former president.
