Last month. It ran ran from my patio across the sidewalk to under the shed. With all the alligator lizards and neighborhood cats running around, it won't last long.
I had to look up 'alligator lizards', as I'd never heard of them. Very cool that you have such interesting neighbors. I suspect the lizards do fall victim to the stray cats as well. :(
I'm not sure I've ever seen one. I know I've seen mice.
Oh, I forgot about Pelosi and McConnell.....I've seen footage of them in the past year.

I was walking somewhere at night and the sum **** bumped into the side of my shoe. We both were trying to decide what direction to move afterward.

In Dallas Texas many, many moons ago. While having breakfast at a restaurant, I looked out the big window and saw an animal in the middle of the street. Believing it was a cat I was worried about its safety when it momentarily reared up on its hind legs and I saw that tail, it was the biggest rat I've ever seen to this day.
A few years ago - we lived next door to a school and the back fence neighbour kept chickens. Rats were after the scraps in the school trash cans and the chicken feed at night.
A couple of years ago. I saw it run across the roof of my garden shed, which is the full width of the garden so something of a highway for animals.
Though far worse was finding a young one in the house. It had fallen into the toilet - perhaps trying to reach the water for a drink - and drowned! (Some people will aver rats can crawl up the drain-pipes from the main sewers, through the w.c. water-trap hence into the house generally, but that's patently nonsense!)
Luckily it had not left much damage or raided any food. I found where it had entered the house, through a former tumble-dryer outlet open to the wall cavity, and closed the hole.
