Do you think Trump lies to himself as well as the American people?

I certainly hope those people open their eyes.

I’m hoping they open their ears too. Trump has been in court for his fraud trial 6X now. Each time he whined about the same old things ever morning and every evening. After 4 or 5 more weeks of that his voice is going to sound like a broken record and people will start to get the broken ear worm out of their ear. Cheers!

No doubt people remember how peaceful protesters were treated.  There are people who were arrested who did not enter the Capitol and did not participate in any violence.
I am glad I do not live closer to DC.  I would likely have been arrested or worse, as well.

I also know that there are consequences for trespassing on Federal land. A relative of mine, a 71-year-old Catholic nun, was sentenced to 6 months in Federal prison for trespassing on government land (not in a building), while peacefully protesting.  So, I'm not real sympathetic to anyone claiming they were victimized.

I know many were arrested for just being there...no violence not even shouting.  After be let in and even escorted through by the Cap police.  Those people should have their records exsponged.  

The Sargent of Arms had ordered that the Capital will be closed to the general public on Jan.6th. And there were signs posted that said the Capital was closed to the public on that day. So any visitors inside were breaking the law and any of the guards that were giving tours were breaking a direct order. Cheers and happy weekend!

Show me an image of one of these supposed signs.  I have watched many videos and pictures from that day and I have never seen one.  You would think it would shown everywhere to solidify their case against those who went inside.  

I know I saw video of the police waving people inside. I saw video of the magnetic locked doors open.  I saw police move the gates. I saw police escorting protesters throughout the building.  And anyone who came in under those circumstances and was not violent should not have been arrested. 

I know the weird guy with the horns was released because of this and I believe more will be as well. 

I would love to see those videos. I have searched for them many times.

As for 'the weird guy with the horns', his release to a halfway house had nothing to do with those videos, if they even exist.

Actually the Capitol was closed to visitors (which are only permitted on guided tours anyway) because of the pandemic. The only way to get in was to be escorted by a member of Congress. You may recall the discussion about certain lawmakers showing people around the building in the days before Jan 6th and whether those were reconnaissance missions. The instructions requesting lawmakers to not give tours was given about that time, because of secuty concerns regarding  the rally. However, some members of Congress did it anyway. Demonstrations on the grounds are allowed in designated areas with a permit. I don't know what kind of signage there was, but I'm sure that between March and January, something got posted at the Visitor Center, where the public was allowed to enter.

It happens. I worked at corporate headquarters for a company that had a division that manufactured defense weapons for the military.  We had frequent peaceful protests on our property. The police would show up with a city bus and zip ties and arrest and cart all of them off to be booked. This included friends of mine and even the wife of the chief of police. I don't know why you keep insisting that this was unfair. They were trespassing and that is not legal. All they had to do was go to the designated area that the permit allowed. There are real issues in this country, but this is what you think matters.

I'm thinking he can use this to his advantage. He can say he didn't have anything to do with people showing up at the Capitol because he couldn't get them to show up for the trial.

I'm sure he'll find a way to spin it to make himself come out on top.
