The last time I listened to this flawlessly-superb-for-me song written and sung by Aimee Mann for the superb-for-me movie "Magnolia" (highly recommended by me)

I like this video someone made with the lyrics, too.

I just ended up crying listening and watching the video.
I find the song very unassumingly uplifting.

Beautiful words, not sure how to apply it to my life however. This problem has been going on for 30  years, don't know how help her except in prayer.

Maybe you need to pray differently.

Within context of the movie, there are several 'upbeat' ways (to me) to interpret the song lyrics.

That "Magnolia" movie is so good in my opinion.  :)

I say it all the time.. After you reach a certain age, you find that less and less seems worth stressing over. In particular, I don't get concerned about other people's life choices and let them live with the consequences.

I don't remember.  I try like hell not to ever give up.

My second attempted suicide. I was in a very dark place, only the love of my family got me through it. My daughter also had this song by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush pretty much on constant repeat and its still one of my favourites:
