Some of my experiences that I would call " 'best-for-me' experiences " I have done alone - - vacation trips to places that interested me, concerts, seeing movies [ "William Friedkin's "Bug," Michael Haneke's 1997 original "Funny Games" (not his own American remake), Matt Reeves' original 2008 "Cloverfield," Kasi Lemmons' 2019 "Harriet" all quickly come to mind  :)  ].

Wow, we sound like kindred spirits. I have discovered there are so many mind blowing musicians that never "made it," so to speak, while J Lo has become a star using other people to sing her songs. Such a travesty for us all, we have been denied enjoying the greatness and hearts of others through their music.

The day the Stones were there another group also sang a song..I wonder if it was an audition.  The other group also became famous but I don't remember their name.  "The Rolling Stones," stood out because it was so unusual. 

Additionally, during that time, I never heard of drugs not even pot.  Never saw anyone doing drugs, talk about drugs or offer me any. If they were around, the people doing them did it in secret.

Your best-for-me experiences sound wonderful.

And I enjoyed hearing more about your Rolling Stones experience. Yes, more than once, I've connected to things you've shared, too. And I do remember your liking, like I do, that post with Thomas Newman's short music moment called "The Farm" from the movie 'Road to Perdition.'

Yes, the best-for-me experiences I shared up there were SO very great for me.

Watching "the bug" right now.  Has me on the edge of my seat, really good so far.  Every time I see a video of people doing the "zombie" drugs, I'll think of this movie.  "The Bug" was way ahead of its time for sure. Really good movie, thanks for the tip.

Just letting you know I didn't find a movie called "The Bug" --
but I know of at least two movies called "Bug." One is from  1975 and directed by Jeannot Szwarc.
And the one that I mentioned in my comment to you up there was director William Friedkin's "Bug" from 2006; Ashley Judd is one of  the cast members. So if you're looking for the movie that was a huge compelling experience for me, it was Friedkin's 2006 "Bug."

But I hope you enjoying whatever Bug you're watching, ha!  :)

Didn't realize "the bug"was movie until I researched it.  Going to have to watch it now, I'm sure it's good if you like it.

Maybe that's my thing with Stewart's voice, too.

The only two songs I could think of by Janis Joplin are Take a Piece of my Heart and Me and Bobby McGee and I do like both of them.  

I like both of them, too.
