I call a her a American citizen who did not let anyone/anything get in the way of her casting her vote.  Yes, that is a patriot.   I could do without the language  myself.

Also think a voter should be able to wear whatever they want to vote.  Our right to vote should not disappear because of our clothing/hat/tattoos etc.

Those type laws must only be enforced in some areas.  I have voted with my MAGA hat on.   I may have to get it out next Tuesday along with my ID.

Thank you for cropping the image. This post was edited by my2cents at October 29, 2024 8:52 AM MDT

I did not crop this image. It is not the original because the OP deleted it. If you have an uncropped image that  gives more context, please be sure to post it.

To me this post is indicative of how MAGA normalizes inappropriate behavior, including verbal abuse of poll workers. My mom was a poll worker for 10 years after she retired. JD Vance just condoned someone shouting obscenities at my mother.

The lady would have been just as patriotic if she abided by the sign, turned her shirt inside out or covered with a jacket, and voted without being a jerk.

Campaigning at the polls has never been allowed and that includes, signs, buttons and apparel.  So much for the law and order party.

JD could have ignored this, but he applauded it. Is this someone American children should look up to?

The cropping is just of the image the original image shows more of her making it more obvious that she is topless which would be against ToS here.  This still shows the woman in other her bra (technically it is violation of the rules) but I am choosing to allow it as I believe it does not the violate the reason for the rule here.  As always, JA is the boss and she could overrule me and chose to remove the image.

As I said I do not like the language. My step-Mother was also a poll worker for several years.
I would be interested in knowing what was said to the voter by the poll workers but I cannot find anything on it.

The only thing that comes up is an similar instance in NH (I think) of same thing, where a woman was wearing an anti-Trump shirt and was told she could not wear it to vote.  Said well can I vote naked. And the took her shirt off and voted.

The point being that JD Vance thought it was an example of patriotism. It doesn't matter if the post was true, or if the poll workers were too mean. Vance believed it, reposted it and approved of the behavior.

Saying you do not like her language is meaningless. Saying you don't like the law in her state is meaningless.  What matters is that you do not think she crossed a line.

I said she crossed a line with her language.

Personally,  if I were in charge I would have had her arrested for indecent exposure.   And whatever the law says for cursing the poll workers.

As said I think the law crosses a line.  A voter should be able to wear whatever they want as long as they are covered. This post was edited by my2cents at October 29, 2024 2:27 PM MDT

You implied that you, personally didn't like the language, but otherwise she was just being patriotic. Now you say she should be arrested for indecent exposure which I think would be overreaching. She did not expose any private body parts. Arresting someone trying to cast a legal vote should be approached with caution. This is not a dictatorship yet. That said, my criticism was toward Vance for endorsing the actions.

If I were in charge, I would have called the police and they could handle it from there.

I did not say I would not have let her vote, she could do that while the police were on their way.
And yes making sure your vote is not denied because of your attire or other stupid reason is patriotic.

It is illegal to display ANY political propaganda (shirt, sign, bumper sticker, etc.) within 1000' of a polling place.  While some places may not enforce the law, it is nonetheless the law.

I did not say there was not a law.  I said it is not enforced every where.

And that I do not agree with it applying to voters clothing etc.  This post was edited by my2cents at October 29, 2024 12:03 PM MDT

Despite whether you do or do not agree with it, it is still the law.  To defy it (even if it is overlooked by poll workers), is to defy the law (willful disobedience).

I stand corrected. This law is passed by the states and different states have different laws. You are free to wear your hat and I am not.

Thank you.  At least I know I agree with my state's law.

Now I know why they did not enforce it.  I had another member here in the last election cycle who told me I could not wear my hat.  My response was the same, I did and I will.  This post was edited by my2cents at October 29, 2024 2:25 PM MDT

The clothing is only banned in 21 states. But the point of my question is about the VP candidate's attitude and approval of her actions.

I’d call her a fowl mouth “lady” with cheap jewelry. A week or so ago a guy punched an elderly man that was working at voting station because he asked him to take his Trump 2024 hat off. Cheers!

Since Day One of my eligibility to vote in this country, I've known the rules which I respect - - no political messages/signs/clothing/etc. within a certain amount of space of voting polls.

I do not call her a patriot at all.

Suck her c**t? No thanks, m'am.

I call her a person with whom I highly disagree.
I may call her disrespectful to poll workers, too. She could have made her point in a more respectful way.
I respect poll workers and the work and time they volunteer.

Not to mention we have a major political candidate who endorsed her behavior. That is the real outrage.

I’m wondering if kids are aloud in voting stations in the US. If so I think it makes it a little worse because kids don’t need to hear that stuff. And kids shouldn't get the idea that – that's how democracy works. I also think that Vance’s patriot comment will brew more violence at voting stations. And maybe that’s how the Trump team want it. Cheers!

I agree about the harassment of poll workers. What a sad situation that a political party endorses it.

Here is another example of violence that Vance’s words might of caused.

A machete-wielding teen was arrested after intimidating Democratic supporters at a Florida polling station.

Williams was arrested on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly brandishing his weapon at two unidentified women, ages 71 and 54. Cheers!

Not the same thing  at all.  Glad he was arrested and anyone he was with should be as well.

Trump’s message has always been – if you don’t support him you are not a patriot and if you don’t fight for him you are not a true American. Vance’s comment just amplifies that message. Cheers!

No, the message is put America First....not Canada,  not Mexico,  not Europe or any other country.  You do not have to support Trump to not be a globalist.

IF this is true (and seeing who it's from makes its validity highly doubtful) -

    1. It is a violation of federal law to wear or display ANY political propaganda (shirt, sign, bumper sticker, etc.) within 1000' of a polling place.  Poll workers CAN (must) tell anyone in violation that they must remove said violation or leave the premises.

    2. The excessive use of foul language only indicates the lack of maturity of the speaker.

Why on earth would a person want to praise the actions of a "karen"?  It only serves to make more of them.
