What would happen if Trump does this?

Part of the swearing in of a US president is to swear to
preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and I think Trump is going to refuse to do that.

Trump has not yet submitted a series of transition agreements with the Biden administration - in part because of concerns over the mandatory ethics pledge vowing to avoid conflicts of interest once sworn in to office. As president, Trump repeatedly came under fire from ethics groups for potential conflicts of interest relating to his businesses and brands.Trump’s family’s foreign business ties have also come under intense scrutiny throughout his time in office and on the campaign trail.

So I think Trump is going to have a few demands before he swears in. Cheers!

Trump wants to be a dictator.  He doesn't care about the nation, only himself.  He doesn't care about the law or doing things "decently".  He's a arrogant, narcissistic, flim flam man.   This post was edited by Shuhak at November 11, 2024 4:09 PM MST

If he does he'll be lying (as usual).  It doesn't say much for a country that elects a convicted felon who habitually lies to its highest position.   We won't be able to say we didn't know that.

How can he attend the inauguration from prison? He's going to be sentenced at the end of this month.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens once he's sentenced.  I'm sure his attorneys are already working on their legal briefs.

He will take the office and be sworn with the same oath.
He will not be in jail/prison etc.  The Bragg case will either be dismissed or issue a fine.
GA case is going to remove Fanni Willis and that cade will be gone.

And Jack Smiths cases are done. This post was edited by my2cents at November 14, 2024 2:35 PM MST
