What do you think about Trump’s nominations?

Trump has been nominating people for some pretty important positions and I didn’t think any of then were qualified.
Until Trump nominated Matt Gaetz for attorney general.
Gaetz has a giant forehead so to save time they could tattoo -
TRUMP NOT GUILTY - in 5 inch block letters on his forehead.
Cheers!

As expected, he's choosing brown-nosers.  Personally, I think he's making a big mistake.  It's clear that he only cares about himself and not the country.

If it is just brown nosers then no one will care.  These are people with a back bone who will get stuff done.

Oh, eventually they WILL care, but by then it will be too late.

I care. Just not in the same way some on the left care.

I'm not on the left (by no means),but what this man is doing is terrifying.  Not that some of what he "wants" to do isn't needed, rather it's the way he's doing that it isn't right.

Before you blame today's Democrats for the Klan and other acts of racism,  please spend some time learning about history and how the two parties switched ideologies. Republicans were once liberals.

There is still one party that is obsessed with color and race...and it is not the conservative party.

Has everything to do with racism.
The idea that an entire party has leaders who believe black or minorities do not know how to get an ID. Or how to use the internet or their kids do not know what a computer is.

    That is racism.

Watch what happens went a black person says they are a conservative, watch how they are treated and tell me who the racist party is and was... This post was edited by my2cents at November 16, 2024 7:26 AM MST

I commented on the history of the two parties, thinking you might appreciate learning some context. I was wrong, you apparently wanted an excuse to spew anti-liberal vitriol. It's really quite entertaining to watch.

Parties did not switch.  A few politicians did.
Civil rights in the 1960s was a north and south issue not Rep and Dem. But Rep were the party that had more votes in favor.

Dem Robert Byrd was and remained a Dem his entire career and was referred to a mentor by Dems like Hillary Clinton.

The supposed switch is simply propaganda to dismiss the Dem party history.    But if you pair their history with their actions now.....there is still racism.  (Again....I only speak of the leaders and politicians)

    Glad you are entertained.

The process of Republicans becoming conservatives began during the Reconstruction following the Civil War. Party ideologies have morphed over decades and become more polarized. If we stop using the Democrat and Republican labels, liberals ended slavery, conservatives formed the Klan. So, blaming Democrats for all the racist past in the country shows a lack of understanding of history. No one party can be blamed. But of course, right-wing propaganda tells a different story, and It's absolutely easier to believe that than to learn from history that nothing is ever simple.

Pertaining to my2cents' "has everything to do with racism" reply --

I know many, many, many Democrats who do not believe a single thing you mentioned in your "Has everything to do with racism" comment. I ask that you please refrain from using the word "entire" when it is not true.
"Entire" means every single person within the party.

Fair  enough.  When I say Dems or Dem party, I am always talking about politicians.  Never voters or regular people.  The power is with the party leaders and politicians.

Yes, I learned that somewhere in my public education years. Haven't forgotten.
I thought of that the second I saw the top part of that picture and article up there.

We've gone over this before. Lincoln and Eisenhower were both Republicans, neither would have been nominated after 1965 - because when LBJ signed Civil Rights into law (and before you say what I know you're about to, his personal feelings about it are immaterial - he did it and that's what matters), Barry Goldwater (R - AZ) saw political mileage in opposing it. All of the former Confederate states switched from blue to red overnight. It was a complete phase shift, but since Goldwater, the racists have all been Republicans. And now they're Trumpicans - the Proud Boys are absolutely neo-Nazis and you can't deny it.

So you admit the LBJ was racist...yes he signed it. He had no choice.
It was the 1990s before the south was taken by the Republicans.

The racists believe a black person cannot get an ID to vote. That a black child does not know what a computer is. That black people have their own language. That government needs to lower the standards of education to pass more minorities....that is racism.  And that is what the leaders of the Dem party claim to be true.

The Nazis are in UK right now fighting Russians.  And helping the west launder money. This post was edited by my2cents at November 18, 2024 12:15 PM MST

I'm admitting that LBJ was a white guy from the South. They sopped up racism with their mother's milk, indoctrinated. Texas was lynching black people for fun when Johnson was a kid.
It's not the Dems who are pricing the poor out of decent education and better than third world health care. The fact that black and Hispanic people are disproportionately represented below the poverty line is because money breeds money. If you own Mediterranean Avenue (unimproved) and your opponent has a hotel on everything else, it's not your fault if you lose.
ONE division of the Ukrainian army has neo-Nazi elements. Just one. Zelenskyy is himself Jewish. You just don't like him because he failed to dish dirt on Hunter Biden as a condition for US military aid which is itself a complete abuse of power by Trump, as if any more examples were needed.
Two Russian paramilitary groups are also Nazi, the Wagner Group uses an SS-style death's head logo. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at November 18, 2024 8:15 PM MST

Are you really going to defend LBJ because there were racists before he was born?
The government prices people out of a good education.  Everything the government gets into increases in price.

I don't like Zelensky because he has took over his media, canceled elections, is taking US tax money and living the high life.  UK is where they launder money.

Zelensky is Jewish...but he has not removed the Nazis from his military.  Or even from his personal security deatail.
Netanyahu is also Jewish but I seem to recall you calling him a Nazi.

Zelenskyy isn't demonizing adherents of an Abrahamic religion with inflammatory rhetoric, intended to fan an existing undercurrent of antisemitism into flame (Arabs are every bit as Semitic as Jews - descended from Ishmael rather than Isaac but both were sons of Abraham, Arabic and Hebrew are both Aramaic languages). Netanyahu is doing precisely that.
