Do you think Trump bought some land around a dry lake bed in California?

Trump just ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to release billions of gallons of water from two reservoirs in California's Central Valley. The water is rushing into a dry lake bed in the Central Valley were it will be absolutely no use in fighting the LA fires. But it might bring up the property value around that formally dry lake bed.

The farmers in the basin own the water that was released and they depend on that water for their crops during the dry season – now it’s gone.

Also Trump should have had State approval before he released the water .

Cheers!

trump has no clue as to how things work.  his actions prove he has no clue how to run a government.  Since he released (wasted) the water, can we blame him when we have no water to fight fires this summer?

I guarantee California would NOT have approved the release of the water, as we have learned how to manage water!  No, we're not perfect at it, but we KNOW when it falls and when it's needed.

Well I guess California farmers won’t have to worry about finding immigrants to harvest their crops because there might not be enough water to keep the plants alive. Cheers!

Since over 33% of this country's fruits and veggies (e.g. tomatoes, melons, citrus, rice) comes from California (and most of it is harvested by migrants), Americans can expect higher food prices come summer - water or not.

You can expect hefty price increases for anything that is grown in California.

The farmers may have to pay a real wage.  No more slave laborers for them.   If that means prices need to go up so be it, shame on them for abusing people.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you are highly misinformed.

Then why are people so worried about the price raising? If they are already paying a reasonable wage, then price is in no jeopardy of raising.

    Because -

A - VERY few people want to spend days in the hot sun (over 100) doing work.  Many Americans are - forgive me for this, but - are lazy.  They want to do the least amount of work for the most pay (as a manager i saw this on a daily basis).  they spend more time on their phones than doing actual work.

    B. NO company is going to pay their employees anymore than they absolutely have to (labor takes up much of a businesses revenue).  It doesn't matter who the employer is (Piggly Wiggly, Federal government, Tesla, etc.).  If they can legally pay minimum wage and get the work done, they're going to do it.  MOST "farmers" do things legally.  granted, there are a few unethical ones out there (cheat laborers), but they are the minority.

    C. People do NOT want to work for low pay doing hard work (it's not the 1920s anymore).  However, migrants ARE willing (to them, any work is better than nothing).

Conclusion - If farmers have to pay higher wages to get people to work, they will have to raise their prices to compensate.  States are raising their minimum wage (up to $25/hr.) even though the federal wage is still $7.25/hr.  So if a business (company, farmer, etc.) can find workers who are willing work for lower pay, they will use those workers - no matter what!

It doesn't matter if one person out there (be it yourself, or Joe Blow) doesn't follow this, most do.  In this country, profit is more important than anything else.

I don't know if he's planning on buying land in CA, but during his meeting yesterday with Netanyahu, he proposed taking over Gaza.  So, Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal and now Gaza.  What a real estate portfolio we will have.

Again, you are misinformed.  That water went into Lake Tulare (a dry lake bed) - in the wet season (no crops)!  Now when summer comes, it won't be there  - and that's when it's needed!

I’m thinking there is something fishy about Trump’s post about the half pipes that are now brimming with beautiful clean water. I’m thinking the photo is an old photo. In the post Trump thanks the military – but not too long ago he was bad mouthing them. Trump also said - Emergency Done! The emergency isn't done and it has been made worse thanks to Trump. Cheers!

trump acts before thinking.  he believes things he sees - no matter when or even if it happened.  he thinks what he sees on TV is reality (because at one time he was on there and it stroked his massive ego).

If it is so bad, why is Newsom trying to take credit claiming he ordered it opened and not Trump?
