Sounds like that was before Trump took office.  Now he is the one kicking butt and fighting our wars for us.

He has a higher approval rating than in his first term, but things have soured since then and by comparison to other presidents, he's below their approval ratings.

"Gallup has Trump at 47% overall (versus 45% in 2017); Pew Research Center puts him at 47% as well (which tops all of its first-term numbers for him).

Yet in those two polls, Trump’s disapproval ratings (48% and 51%, respectively) still leave him underwater — more unpopular than not.

And historically, he continues to lag behind his Oval Office predecessors in terms of initial popularity.

… but it’s still lower than most past presidents’ (and it’s going down)

Excluding Trump, the average off-the-bat approval rating for all newly elected presidents since Dwight D. Eisenhower is 61%, according to Gallup.

That leaves Trump 2.0 in second-to-last place overall — even with his improved 2025 Gallup numbers.

Ahead of Trump in the inaugural approval contest, per Gallup, are John F. Kennedy (72%), Eisenhower (68%), Barack Obama (68%), Jimmy Carter (66%), Richard Nixon (59%), Bill Clinton (58%), Joe Biden (57%), George W. Bush (57%), George H.W. Bush (51%) and Ronald Reagan (51%).

The only president who trails second-term Trump (47%) is first-term Trump (45%)."

Also worth noting: Trump’s average approval rating across all reputable polls has decreased slightly since he returned to the Oval Office on Jan. 20, according to the aggregators at FiveThirtyEight, while his average disapproval rating has increased significantly. This means the gap between the two numbers has already shrunk by 3 percentage points, from 8.2% on Jan. 24 to 5.2% currently."

Latest poll  (CBS) has Trump at 53% favorable.  Highest he has ever been. Not going down...

70% say he is doing what he campaigned on doing. This post was edited by my2cents at February 12, 2025 9:05 AM MST

Again old poll, new polls are CBS 53%. Rasmussen 53% and Trafalgar 54%

And once policies kick in I believe it goes higher. This post was edited by my2cents at February 12, 2025 11:57 AM MST

Not sure which graphic  refers to. The list of polls from 538 is from today and includes the CBS poll.

The graphic of presidents and their approval ratings  illustrates that every president had higher approval ratings at the time of inauguration. But Trump blows them out of the water with his disapproval ratings.

Your graphic (2nd) would not include the new CBS 53% Rasmussen 53% and Trafalgar 54% polls that were just released.  (February polls)

Your graph uses polls from Jan 21-27th. (2nd image) also is not polls of the other POTUS only at inauguration.  Some of the polls are going into February.

Your 1st graph does not include the new Rasmussen  or new Trafalgar polls. This post was edited by my2cents at February 13, 2025 5:26 AM MST

Let's see how his approval rate is once all his policies actually take effect.  It appears that President Musk wants to do away completely with FEMA.  Clearly, Republicans have no interest in addressing  climate change, so when all of the natural disasters head our way, I doubt the red states, which will likely be the most affected, will be in a position to take care of rebuilding without federal assistance.  Of course, the populations of those red states can move to Gaza after Trump makes it the Riviera of the Middle East.

EDIT TO ADD:  I forgot to mention that grocery prices are on the rise already and the inflation rate is also going up.  Hmmm ... I don't think that was supposed to happen, do you? This post was edited by Spunky at February 13, 2025 2:12 AM MST

I have been watching mine and no changes up or down other than eggs which increased.
Inflation rate going up that was just announced was Bidens last rate.

But yes we will see what the polices do to the rate.

So, because your prices haven't gone up or down, we can conclude that they haven't gone up or down in the entire country.  Good to know.

To be perfectly honest, I don't watch prices.  I am in a position that if I want to have something, I buy it.  The rate of inflation is national, not just in your little bodega. This post was edited by Spunky at February 13, 2025 2:59 PM MST

I am happy you do not have to watch prices.

Most people do. I can buy what I want generally but I do not like overpaying.   There is a national inflation rate...which is the one you hear about.

And there are the local rates.  I can watch mine locally. And .made a point to record things I buy frequently because I know the topic is gong to come up.
Buying from online sites help because your old receipt is is stored in the app...

I don't think the Dem leaders will be able to get anything started. Especially after losing USAID etc money.

They (Dem politicians)  have been calling for violence for awhile now and have not stopped.

I don't thing either side wants it.

You do realise that American farmers sold $2bn worth of food annually to USAID, right? Now nobody will buy it - so it rots while people starve and the farmers don't get paid so they are eventually driven off the land because they can't pay the mortgage. Welcome to Trump's America - land of the perpetually broke.
China hasn't started to play hard ball yet - if it stops buying US paper (it owns most of the US deficit and the dollar has been fiat since Nixon), you are going to see hyperinflation that will make Weimar Germany look like a tea party.

No, for the same reason Germany's didn't against Hitler. Brainwashing - their anger will be redirected against minorities, like gays, other races, Muslims etc. Trump is to Muslims what Hitler was to Jews, the rhetoric is identical. He's just choosing to scapegoat the OTHER Abrahamic religion (and the Arabs are just as Semitic, FYI).

I have no anger.  I can disagree with someone else's thoughts and actions without hating them.
    Most adults can do that.

It's not anger, so much as contempt. Feeling better than and more deserving than than the other races and ethnicities that are immigrating here just like most of our ancestors did and for the same reasons. Feeling smarter and better informed than your fellow citizens who have different opinions and closing your mind to the possibility that some of what you've been told is not entirely true.
