Remember when Trump signed an executive order against paper straws and I said next he will be selling plastic straws on TS?

It could be for the same 2 reasons Trump signed an executive order during his first term to allow nation parks to sell water in disposable bottles.

One: He doesn't give 2 hoots for the environment (litter drastically increased in Nation parks after the executive order).

Two: He might profit from the straw executive order – like he likely did from the bottle water executive order (Trump sold bottle water back then)

Paper straws do not hold up to liquids very long and they are not actually good for the environment. 

A paper straw will eventually break down in liquids. The environmental impacts of paper versus plastic straws is an ongoing debate and there is no real clear winner.  In my mind, the effect of plastic straws on marine wildlife is a good enough reason for me to stop using them, regardless of which one is more toxic or requires the biggest carbon footprint to produce. I have never found paper straws to be particularly inconvenient or unpleasant to use, but I am not someone who uses disposable straws on a regular basis.
