    On the vertical - A concrete slab.  Below that is dirt (red).  Below that is rock strata (granite) with several mine tunnels running through it (from abandoned gold mines).

    On the horizontal - A 2-story house built atop a year-round creek (fed by numerous springs).

    The laundromat. There was this one time I almost got into a fight with this guy because he thought he had dibs on a machine. However, I didn't recognize or know this at the time.
