Yes. And the book was so much better than both mini-series and the movie.

. . . and the musical-based-upon-the-book and the prequel to the movie and the sequel-to-the-prequel-of-the-musical movie and the. . .

I'm such an idiot- -  I thought that the question was an intentionally open-ended question, not a specific title. And I "took" your answer in the way I was thinking - -  about the annoying (to me) tendency to add prequels and sequels and TV shows and series based on single great books or movies.

Hold on, now it’s my turn to be completely confused

I thought it absolutely is an intentionally open-ended and trick question, not referring to a specific work. How did her answer convince you otherwise?

It was an open ended question.  ok then, did you read the book "Home?"  This post was edited by Honey Dew at April 14, 2025 4:24 PM MDT

By whom? I don’t think I’m even familiar with any such title; so I doubt I’ve read it.

Because he knows the book written by Stephen King  titled IT, was also made into a TV mini series and a movie. And he knows that we are both fans of Stephen King.

(The question is open ended....my answer was not) This post was edited by my2cents at April 14, 2025 4:24 PM MDT

I see how anyone can interpret the question to be about that particular book, however, the fact that he didn’t capitalize the final word and did not put quotation marks before and after the word also leaves it open to be interpreted ambiguously as well. There’s no definite way to know until or unless the author of the question clarifies the intent.

Yes, I first took the ambiguous interpretation for the same grammatical reasons you stated.
When I first got to my2cents' answer, I first thought she was ambiguous, too, until very soon after, I also read Slartibartfast's answer.
And, like my2cents said, I quickly realized both of them were talking of King.
my2cents and I have talked about much of King's stuff before.
And I know specifically to which specific bit in King's book Slartibartfast refers.

Anyway, my two replies here to my2cents are my first  -- the humorous exaggeration when I thought she was thinking as I was -- then King came -- and then my second reply came.

    :)

I skimmed a precis, will that do?

Actually, I did read It. The movie didn't bother me but the book made me want to puke. They COULDN'T film the disturbing bit. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at April 14, 2025 8:38 PM MDT

    Huge "Duh" on me.

After reading everyone's answers, I STILLLL didn't catch on. Until now. ("Better never than late" in this case.)

I thought your question in your answer, and your answer, was an open-ended joke, not a specific title, even though it's obvious to me now you refer to the King book.

I add some more thoughts elsewhere in thread.
But I agree with you - I found that one bit rather unnecessary in King's book.
