What is your reaction to Trump's response when asked the time frame that detainees might be held in the Florida facility?

Slave labor is what they are now. 
Just listen to all the Dem politicians asking us: "Who is gonna clean your house, clean your hotel, mow your grass, watch your kids etc?" 

I am. I don't have any slave labors. I do all of those things myself. 

Do you also pick your own fruits and vegetables?  Do you also slaughter your own beef, pork and chickens?

They will have to hire Americans...to do the work.  That may mean they will have to pay more or invest in automation.  
Now, require work to qualify for welfare and work able people will do those jobs.

Again, the work requirement is the able bodied and minded work aged adults in the household.  The minimum of 20hrs a week is lower than the 30hrs that President Clinton required for the welfare.  

I know when I eat in a restaurant, I always go in the back and wash my own dishes.

Me, too.  And when I stay at a hotel, I always make my own bed, clean the bathroom, wash the sheets and towels and vacuum the carpet.

They are cheep labor that can show up for work or not show up for work – so they are not slave labor.
But I think Trump plans to bring slavery back - by working the migrants hard all day without pay and then locking them up at night in places like that alligator ally. Awhile back the Trump team was saying slavery wasn’t so bad because the slaves learned a trade – wonder if history will repeat itself and say the same thing about Trump’s slaves. Also awhile back Trump was saying the T moble phone will be made in the US and will sell for $450 - the only way he could do that is with slave labor. Cheers!

Call it what you want but it is illegal workers, and yet that normally means cheap.   It is a shame that the Dem party rolled over on the blue collar worker for cheap illegal new illegal voters.   
The Dem party used to support the border security including the wall, and protecting the blue collar workers wages from competition from the illegal cheap labor.

He has said that farmers can vouch for the workers they like and those workers can stay - the farmers  will be responsible for them. Does this sound like those workers will be able to complain about working conditions or pay or be able to change jobs without risking deportation? I don't care what any individual MAGA supporter says should happen, this is the policy from the top. And you're right, it could be considered slave labor.

If we raise wages to a point where these jobs are competitive which will be tricky during a labor shortage,  that will cause inflation. 

The White House is his current residence.  Every trip he makes to Mar-A-Lago and his golf courses costs the taxpayers millions of dollars, not to mention the air pollution his flights produce, but I guess that's OK with you since you probably don't believe in climate change.  Do you also believe the Earth is flat?

As we have discussed before, a President is not a prisoner, he/she can visit or stay wherever they choose.

I will start worrying about the pollution from the flights when the climate crazies stop flying their private planes to the climate conferences.

It could be his hearing, but it's possible he didn't process the question correctly. He also gave a long, rambling answer which was largely commonly-known information about where he lived. (Which was accurate,  to be fair). I haven't given much credence to the mental health professionals who claim he is in the early stages of dementia. However, having observed the progress of cognitive impairment first-hand, this particular interaction seemed all too familiar. I don't draw any conclusions, just wanted other takes on it.

My clinical diagnosis is that he's a flaming nut job.

There's a lot of that going around.

Hurricane season is here. Let's see how that turns out.

Well if hurricane season is in Florida I don’t think it will turn out too good for American tax payers.

One day after Trump gave his grand tour of Alligator Alley it started flooding so a hurricane will probably add to the problem. It will cost $140 million dollars a year to run the place. And I bet that cost will go way up trying to keep the facility from flooding - which they never will be able to do (it will be like throwing good money after bad - time and time again). I also don’t think the environment will do too good because of Alligator Ally – Trump probably broke ever environmental rule in the book to build it. Cheers and happy weekend!
