Do you ever fish for compliments?

I usually don’t but I might start.

A year ago I stopped buying eggs and butter after I was really really brave and got a blood test and the doctor told me my cholesterol was a bit high.

But the other day I thought I would treat my self so I put a pound of butter in my shopping cart. After walking around the store I figured I should put the butter back. There was a lady by the butter cooler and I figured if she saw me putting the butter back she might think I was poor and couldn’t afford the butter. So I said I better put this back because I’m getting fat.

She said ya that stuff will do it then when I was walking away she said – and by the way you’re not fat.

It felt pretty good so I think I’m going start making fishing for compliments part of my shopping routine.

Put some butter in my cart – put it back – tell people it is because I’m getting fat – then hope they give me a compliment. Cheers!

If I did that, the lady probably would have suggested that I put a few other things back, too.

If someone suggested something like that to me – I would look at them sincerely and say – you’re probably right. Then I would pretend to go put my vegetables back – instead of the chips and cookies. Cheers!

    Nope.  I don't care.

BTW... its not butter that makes one fat, rather excess butter (e.g. 5 tbsp per slice of toast, eating several deep-fried "cubes on a stick").  As with anything else, it should be eaten in moderation.

When it came to butter I didn’t know the meaning of the word moderation. I kept my butter in the fridge and I would use a metal wire cheese slicer to slice off the butter and tile my slice of bread – it was probably an1/8 of a inch thick layer of butter. I also fried every thing with butter. I have really changed my eating habits in the last year. Cheers!

Good for you. I happen to believe everything tastes better with butter.

    No. I don't think I do.

(If your situation had happened to me, I would not have returned the butter for fear of someone seeing me putting the butter back and I'd get reported, and then I'd get into trouble.

    Welcome to my messed head.)

The only time I went fishing, I caught six porgies.  That was about 58 years ago.
