Is Trumps new executive order going to help or hinder the homeless?

Trump’s new order redirects federal funds to ensure that homeless people are transferred to rehabilitation centers and other facilities.

It sounds good - but I have to wonder what Trump has in mind when he say’sother facilities”. Hitler had homeless people moved to “other facilities” but back then they called them considerations camps. Cheers!

"Potentially" does not mean it's a fact.  It means it's a possibility, not that it has already happened.

"sed to say that something may develop into something
    synonym - possibly
    https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/potentially

"sed to describe the possible results or effects of something"
    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/potentially

"sed to say you are not certain
    https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/potentially

Therefore, your "proof" is not conclusive.

We just broke the record for monthly tariff revenue again for July and it is not over yet.

Why is it a bad thing to remove people who were enrolled in more than one medicaid program and eliminate that waste. Or to require able bodied working aged people to work a whole 80 hrs a month?

I always thought people wanted to get rid of waste and fraud but I guess I was wrong.

Nice attempt at diversion.  Your "proof" that people are double-dipping is not based on fact.  That was the point I addressed.

Until I know what the money receied from tariffs is going to be used for, I can't comment.  For all we know, that money will be used to refurbish and retrofit Trump's gold covered plane from Qatar.

The money to upgrade the Qatari plane has been taken from defense funding. Something to do with nuclear safety. Almost $1B, so no biggie.

You did not address the people double enrolled at all.

You addressed the tariffs potentially being $3T in 10 yrs.

You raised the point about double dipping and I addressed that point.  Clearly, you didn't understand my reply to that.  I can write the words, but I can't make someone comprehend them.

Where did you disprove people were enrolled in more than one Healthcare program?  I gave a link to the gov website that says millions were and it saved $14B annually.

Where is your link showing otherwise? This post was edited by my2cents at July 31, 2025 9:49 AM MDT

What you posted about double-dipping is not based on fact.  It is based on a POSSIBILITY.  Do you even understnd what YOU YOURSELF POST?  Go back and read your quote.  It uses the word POSSIBILITY.  Possibility is not fact.

I'm going to stop here because you will argue to the death even when what you yourself posted is not based on fact and yet youi accuse me of not providing proof.

Now, go ahead and delete my comment because you think it goes against the rules. This post was edited by Spunky at July 31, 2025 1:22 PM MDT

Seems like ICE has been arresting people based on the color of their skin. Maybe law enforcement will do something similar with this homeless thing.

Is this person homeless or on his way home from his construction job.

    Cheers!

What if homeless people start wearing business attire? That would make it harder to lock them up.

Hey that sounds like one of those ideas that just might be crazy enough to work. Cheers!

Seems to me that the Trump team is trying to spin this thing like - all homeless people have mental problems or they are drug addicts – so they need Trump’s help.

A lot of the homeless are homeless because of the cost of living. The Trump team is also trying to to spin it like – Trump is doing it because Trump cares. I don’t think he cares about the poor – if he did care he wouldn’t of called poor countries Sh*t Hole Countries. Cheers!

No worries! Once we get rid of those pesky immigrants there will be affordable houses and well-paying jobs for everyone!

Of course.  Every homeless person is just dying to be out in a field picking fruits and vegetables in the hot sun.

What some people forget is that those jobs follow the crops. The migrant workers travel  to where the crops are ready and they are provided housing in each location. So if you want to see the country, here's your chance!

I'm glad I can get out of bed under my own steam, so I don't see myself doing such back-breaking work any time soon.

I was just reminded of when I couldn't get out of bed by myself (two broken arms and heavy pain meds), it was mostly immigrants who helped me with everything I couldn't do for myself. Those jobs were not the most pleasant either. I don't know their documentation status, but it does occur to me that without immigration, there may soon be a real problem with providing care for the aging Boomer population. I hope all those people cheering on ICE are prepared to care for their family members by themselves.

I believe there is already a problem with getting enough help both in hospitals and nursing homes.  When my parents were in the nursing home, their care-givers were all immigrants of one stripe or another and no, those jobs are not pleasant ones.  Bad enough to have to clean up after your own parents, imagine doing that with strangers.

You are not sure if you employed an illegal alien? Doing so is illegal...

No, I was not the employer. I was in a healthcare facility.  Thanks for your concern.
