The only churches standing when Jesus returns will be the false worldly churches who teach the doctrines of demons.. If you read The Bible you will see that the vast majority of followers of Jesus will be executed by being beheaded for refusing to worship the image of the beast..  The times of the return of Jesus will be like the times of Noah and there where only a handful of followers of God left during the times of Noah..

I don't agree. That is NOT what God says at all. As Noah was safe so will we be safe. Noah was our example of how God takes care of us. We just have to have faith in God and not be afraid. He will protect us. I have already been through the worse I am sure! It will be easy from now on. Please consider these verses carefully! We have already been persecuted many of us, but it wasn't so bad because God Always protects his own if we put him first. Some eople have  been put to death if they go into war zones as missionaries (like my great aunts etc who wanted that) but not MOST if we pray and ask God to protect us. We have a loving God. We have nothing to fear. "My people will never beg for bread" Jesus says.

"Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great .earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.(this is happening now!)

12 “But  BEFORE all this (It already happened), they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 And so you will bear testimony to me. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put SOME of you to death. 17 Everyone will hate you because of me. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 Stand firm, and you will win life." Luke 21"9

Hello Kittigate. Here is an article you may enjoy? You can read it or you can listen to it while you are at your computer doing other things. It takes 12 inutes and 25 seconds. At the bottom is a little about the Greek word 'parousia', often erroneously translated as 'coming'.

    https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20130101/should-you-fear-end-of-world/

The End of the World—Fear, Fascination, and Frustration

    .

[Concerning the meaning of this word, Israel P. Warren, D.D., wrote in his work The Parousia, Portland, Maine (1879), pp. 12-15: “We often speak of the ‘second advent,’ the ‘second coming,’ etc., but the Scriptures never speak of a ‘second Parousia.’ ]

    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200003548?q=%22second+coming%22+presence&p=par

Many translations vary their renderings of this word. While translating pa·rou·siʹa as “presence” in some texts, they more frequently render it as “coming.” This has been the basis for the expression “second coming” or “second advent” (adventus [“advent” or “coming”] being the Latin Vulgate translation of pa·rou·siʹa at Mt 24:3) with regard to Christ Jesus. While Jesus’ presence of necessity implies his arrival at the place where he is present, the translation of pa·rou·siʹa by “coming” places all the emphasis on the arrival and obscures the subsequent presence that follows the arrival. Though allowing for both “arrival” and “presence” as translations of pa·rou·siʹa, lexicographers generally acknowledge that the presence of the person is the principal idea conveyed by the word.

(Matthew 24:3) While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

(Matthew 24:36-42) “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the Flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. 41 Two women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. 42 Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

I'm not non-religious but I would imagine that the non-religious would try to gallop but it would be too late to saddle the horse. If someone doesn't believe on the name of Jesus and trust in Him as Savior now, then some day you must face Him as your Judge.

We don't agree with each other Carazaa that is true..

    John 16:

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

    Revelation 2:

10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

    Revelation 20:

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Read all of Luke 21 down to this verse Carazaa

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

what a great reply!! and my thoughts exactly, only you expressed them lots better than I could!!!!

I'd LOVE to know what he thought of the Vatican. the cesspool of the world, to me......(raised catholic and couldn't wait to get out of it!!!.....dislike 'organized' religion and no, am not an Atheist, but I do kinda respect what they do; their homework & exposing some of the crap that 'religion' is involved in'.......

I think He would probably destroy the Vatican in one fell swoop....after all, how DID we go from a humble man to all the bloated, self-satisfied, pompous Vatican and it's jackasses?????

and on a side note, OF COURSE He wouldn't like what we thought; not a tall, handsome, Nordic-type blonde! from what I've read in the past, He'd most likely be short and stocky and have coarse brown hair.......!!!

    but thanks for the reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People have been persecuted, for 2000 years. Jesus warned the apostles. All of the apostles were killed. Jesus said the end would not come yet. But AFTER that there will be great earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and terrors.  That is happening now. These are the signs of Jesus return. Your verse of Rev 20 are Christians who have been persecuted . (ALL true Christians have been persecuted). My Grandma told me 50years ago (she died 30years ago) that watch out for the end time signs (weather changes, floods, great earthquakes, and terrible things happening in the world like never before then you know he can come any day) My grandma didn't see those signs yet. That's why she warned me. I have been persecuted my whole life (nothing new). Now it's time to look up and wait for Jesus return. After he comes and takes us to himself the world will be in turmoil and they will hide. I quoted the verses before Luke 21:28 We have to take these verses in context with the rest of the scriptures. In this verse God is saying that when Jesus comes it is the beginning of sorrows. Jesus will take us out of the world. We have nothing to fear.  We are not going to be judged. God loves us like crazy and answers ALL our prayers if we put him first. I think you are misinterpreting these verses because you are contradicting other verses. We have to trust Him, and not be afraid.

So Carazaa when have followers of Jesus been executed for not worshipping the image of the beast?  What was this image of the beast in the past?  Where where these Christians beheaded  who was the anti-christ and who was his false prophet?  And what where his lying signs and wonders that the wicked one performed to deceive the world into thinking he is God?

Of course these things have not happened Yet...   There is no pre-tribulation rapture Carzaa ...

    2 Thessolonians 2: KJV

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

"""""""that day shall NOT COME, except there come a falling away FIRST, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;""" """"

So the Anti-christ must come first ....
