My computer has a screw loose.

Should basic tech maintenance be offered as a subject in our high schools so we can look after our own hardware?

Schools don't teach simple machines anymore so a high school student wouldn't no what a screw was or how to use a screwdriver.

  • You'd have a better take on that than I do. Even so, I think elementary computer maintenance would be useful. I'm only missing one of the screws that holds my laptop together but that will become a problem if the innards get dirty.

  • From experience you can take out near every screw on a lap top and it's still an issue thing to open them lol

  • I'll have to, Pearl. It's an easy fix but it's a very tiny screw and I'll have trouble getting one like it.

I agree, there ought to be repair shops for fixing computers. we've thrown away a laptop because of a minor issue.

  • Plenty of shops but it's such a minor thing I'd rather do it myself.

I have a service agreement with the "Geek Squad". They know their stuff and it is repair or replace.

Tip #1: don't let Randy D near it.

Yes, it would be nice if schools would teach something. Anything.

I thought it was already.   I'm sure they have everything to do with computer training at ground level these days.
