Sorry, America, I don't want to add to your woes, but how did you ever vote for a twittermouse?

Does President Trump intend to conduct his duties through Twitter rather than the Oval Office? What kind of buffoon would tweet such a challenge and expect any reaction other than the one it provoked.

It was clear, even before the election, that this man was incapable of fulfilling the duties of president but I really didn't expect him to go into free fall this quickly. Does the GOP have any control over him or will he take the party down with him?

  • The Dems and the GOP are so well entrenched that any other party would be far in the future, if ever. Likewise in Oz and the UK. But there has to be an effective opposition to stop any governing party from going overboard.

    He's endorsed by Twitter. They streamed his rallies and debates live. They need Donald Trump. He's the only person keeping Twitter relevant. The platform has to compete against Facebook and Instagram somehow. They don't want to become the next Myspace. Twitter wants you to talk about Trump, but they also want you to talk about Twitter as well. They want the word Twitter to be written all over the internet. One Trump for every three Twitter's. That's their secret business recipe. Now repeat after me:

    Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Trump. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Trump.

    Your question to America seems to have attracted the regular foreigners who love to talk about American politics.  This was quite entertaining.  QUITE!

    To answer your question, don't worry about America.  I'm not.  We're fine.  We'll be fine.  We'll survive Trump and may actually benefit from him.  I've never had a half empty cup.

    President Trump is fine. He is actively going about fulfilling his campaign promises. From the Oval office, he has made it clear we will secure our border. We will make good trade deals. We will repeal and replace OC. We will have a good environment for business....have you seen the number of jobs that have been KEPT IN THE US and that have been announced to be coming to the USA?

    So no need to worry about US, we are doing great.

    It is my opinion, and I voiced it a while back, our new president will be removed, ousted, impeached within a year. The damage he has done in his first week in office will take decades to repair. The GOP is in a "wait and see what he does next" mode, they are scared and trying to cover themselves so when the stinky stuff does hit the fan they may have some cover.  I see, eventually, many new rules and laws put in place to prevent something like this from ever happening again. Yes there are many of his followers that believe this election has been the best thing ever to happen to our country. Little by little, as the rights and freedoms of everyone are increasingly squeezed in the name of "self preservation" and taxes are increased not reduced the true reality of their actions will hit them. Their question will be "what happened".

  • I'm afraid so, Ancient. But you're right about the GOP. Such a presidential candidate was unthinkable and they were caught with their pants down. You can bet their next convention will table some rules that will prevent an unqualified maverick hijacking the nomination again. Had the Dems put up a more acceptable front-runner we wouldn't be faced with a Trump presidency.
