  • Back in the 1960s I was working  in Sydney's GPO. One day as i went out to buy a sandwich i noticed a guy giving me the hard eye. I paid no attention but when I returned he followed me in, held open the lift door after I got in, and signalled me to get out.

All the detective stories say it's easy to spot a cop and and I had no doubt about who this was. it was his manner rather than his appearance. So I got out of the lift to talk to him.

He asked who I was and then for proof of identity. When he was satisfied he thanked me then pulled out a photograph of the guy he was looking for -- a man who had killed a taxi driver in another city -- and we looked very much alike.

So, yes, I do have a doppelganger and he kills people.

  • I would be careful, Didge, with such a lookalike.

  • It's OK. I probably outlived him anyway. With his lifestyle he was running too many risks.

I haven't found mine yet but when I do I'm going let him know this town ain't big enough for the 2 of us. A few years ago there was a guy in town that looked exactly like me and my wife and our friends would see him doing things that I would never do then they would ask me why I was doing those things. We eventually figured out that I had a look a like and I shaved to end the confusion. There are a lot of people in the word so I figure ever one must have a look a like. Cheers!

  • I found my Afro-American lookalike quite by accident on the internet. Our hairstyles, however, were different. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 31, 2017 5:36 PM MDT

I once saw a woman shopping with her kid who I thought bore a striking resemblance to me and all I thought was: "ewww, my other self has kids, that's gross" :| This post was edited by nobodylair.37 at March 30, 2017 6:59 PM MDT

once.  I didn't actually meet her we just missed each other by minutes.  However her friends thought I was her and were thinking  I had some problem and was being stuck up.  Wish I had pursued meeting her.  It was quite a dramatic event and took some convincing on my part.  That is all I remember.  This post was edited by Art Lover at March 29, 2017 7:25 PM MDT

I used to hitch hike a lot and it was very easy for me. A lot of people thought I looked like someone they knew and they would stop to see why I was on the roadside. Then, since they were already stopped, they would give me a ride.

Yes. When I was in elementary school, there was another student who looked a lot like me. People would confuse us all the time, but the funny thing was that neither he nor I saw the resemblance.

    How about you, Neelie?

I have one and I met him. We both did a double-take. We knew about each other as he was the principal at my kid's school and when he first arrived the kids thought there were all saying hello to me, since most of them knew me. It was like looking into a mirror.

Apparently mine's name is Tammy.  There is a deputy I frequently ran across years ago, and he insisted I was someone named Tammy that he used to work with.  He thought I didn't remember him at first, then that I was messing with him.  But I am not Tammy.

Thank you,  Tammy.  (And here I was all this time thinking you're Bozette.)

If you are the deputy that thinks I am Tammy, be warned...I am not above punching a deputy.

People used to say I looked like the Irish singer Enya.  Or she looked like me since I am older. I can see why.  But no longer think that is true. Of course have not seen any recent pictures of her.

At last count there were eight celebrities who look exactly like Katy Perry. I mean eight in a single image. Search "katy perry lookalike" and you'll see them.

My mum has and identical twin that's also female and both fell pregnant at around the same time...both had girls that looked so much like their mothers and when we all go out together it can get very confusing for people    ....... :)
