    1.  Comfort

    2.  Look

    3.  Price  (not paying a lot, no reason to, I know how to shop)

    4.  MUST HAVE ALL OF THE ABOVE.    I have about 50 pair of shoes at least.   This way they never wear out.  I change them a lot.

I actually have this pair.   They look good with pants or skirts.

I wear cheap velcro shoes from Walmart. About $13.95 a pair.

Comfort first.  Looks second.  And yes, they can't be a ridiculous price.

I only wear flip flops; I do buy the expensive Birkenstock ones though.  Gotta have that arch.

When I was 20 or 21  we lived in a part of town where people were buying old houses and fixing them up;; it was the cool  hippy part of town. My husband's dad gave us an old run down rental he had owned for years which we fixed up to it's original 1906 German-styled glory.    I went into the health food store one day and they were setting up a Birkenstock display.  I bought a pair that day, probably the first pair ever sold in the state was to me.  Since then I have been in Germany several times and have kept myself well-stocked.  I have tendinitis in my feet and as long as wear my Birks I'm fine.   If I told you how many pair I own, many still brand new in boxes, you really would not believe me.

I really can't consider shoes to have a political persuasion.  I think you are just messing with me.   :)

I think so, My 2.  I love these. I only saw the one pair at Ross, a department store down here in Phoenix area.   I am sure they must come in other colors, everyone that sees me in these wants a pair.   I would love red ones for sure.

I have a few pair from Wal-Mart.  I love shoes that have little support because I can wear them longer without them hurting.

Yes, because of the flip-flop addiction, you gotta.    Those are BAD for your feet, girl.  You are better off barefootin

They are expensive.  I bought many many pair from a guy in Germany years ago.  Then I found a guy in Germany who sold them to me via ebay.  I accumulated so so many and kept putting the boxes up in the closet.  When I've been in Germany I've always come home with a new pair.  When my children were little I brought them Birkenstocks back from a trip.  It started a rage in their school system.  The main thing is that they keep my feet healthy and pain-free.  Here is the sad thing.  Today I live in South Florida and only wear the sandal models.  I own more clogs than sandals.   I may have to sell some of the brand new ones one day.

They may be bad for your feet, but they are great for my feet.  My sister was wearing them a lot and they caused her to have cysts under two toenails.  The podiatrist said it happens with some people, especially when they buy too small of a size . The toe bar is at the wrong place.     The correct fit for a Birkenstock looks like it is too big.   For tendonitis, they are life savers.  I have no toe issues.
