I don't think there was a second choice... at least I was never told there was... my dad liked names that cannot be shortened.... my name cannot be shortened

There is a guy in my area, and I have met him ------------- first name is Bulwinkle.  Another guy who has been in the newspaper a lot for crimes,  his first name is Pink Paint.  I don't know their middle names. This post was edited by B.H.Wilson at April 22, 2017 4:52 PM MDT

I don't think they had a second. I know if I had been a boy my name would have been Robert.
My children, debated and I won on our Daughter she has an unusual name. I lost on our son's, they have normal names. I wanted to name one of them Dimitri.

I don't recall my parents ever having told me there was a second choice.  Had I been a boy, clearly they would not have named me the same.

  • My parents don't seem to remember specifically what the second choice was, but they did strongly consider Neil as well as Brian. "Nevan" combined their desire to have a name end in -n and begin with n. I'm glad they chose the one they did :)
