What was your parents' second choice for your name? Do you rather it had been chosen instead?

Mom wanted Wendy...Dad won and I am glad he did, as I quite like my name.

I don't think there was a second choice... at least I was never told there was... my dad liked names that cannot be shortened.... my name cannot be shortened

There is a guy in my area, and I have met him ------------- first name is Bulwinkle.  Another guy who has been in the newspaper a lot for crimes,  his first name is Pink Paint.  I don't know their middle names. This post was edited by B.H.Wilson at April 22, 2017 4:52 PM MDT

I don't think they had a second. I know if I had been a boy my name would have been Robert. 
My children, debated and I won on our Daughter she has an unusual name. I lost on our son's, they have normal names. I wanted to name one of them Dimitri. 

I don't recall my parents ever having told me there was a second choice.  Had I been a boy, clearly they would not have named me the same.

My parents don't seem to remember specifically what the second choice was, but they did strongly consider Neil as well as Brian. "Nevan" combined their desire to have a name end in -n and begin with n. I'm glad they chose the one they did :)
