For those of you who have a middle name, what if your first and middle names were reversed in order: would that be cool? ~

Or would it be weird?
Would it be awkward?
Would it remind you if someone else?
Would it sound funny?
Would you usually go by your current first name, or your current middle name?
Do you think your entire personality might have been different if they were reversed?
If you're usually by the initial for either one of them or both of them, would you still do so with their order reversed?

(You do NOT have to reveal your names to us if you do not want to.)

  • It wouldn't flow as easily as it does now.

It doesn't trip off the tongue right when they are reversed.

I have TWO middle names. If my initials were reversed, my name would be MARD (mud).

It wouldn't have the same ring to it, it sounds way better as it does now.

My mother wanted to give me a pretty sounding name but her brother said the first and middle names she wanted was a popular thing for drug dealers when naming their daughters, so she just slightly altered the first name. I know that little story was kind of irrelevant, but other people had similar answers so I wanted to spice it up.

I'm known by my middle name after my mother's brother who had been killed in the war. My first name is my father's, but mum said to use the second...

  • It would be a little odd only because my middle name is Japanese, 匠 (Takumi), it's not a familiar name in the U.S. and I'd have to explain it every time I introduced myself. I prefer it as a middle name.

Yes.  That would be cool.  I am used to it the way it is but either name works for me, along with being called by just the initials.

Martin Thomas vs Thomas Martin---Both have two syllables and either sounds fine.  It would just take some getting used to.

  • "I don't like it, but it would be fine for some."  There is an actor who has that name.

  • That would not work with Soviet, Mexican or Chinese names. Usually the middle names of my people tell our fathers' given names. There is a popular Ukrainian actress whose full name is Olga Konstntinovna Kurylenko. Her father has the given name Konstantin. A few just use their first and middle names, e.g. Natasha Alexandrovna. I cannot recall her surname.
