How much of an impact does the weather have on your everyday life?

  • It has a fair amount of impact, I'd say. It determines how much exercise I'll get, how much time I'll spend reading, it affects how I get to work, whether I will go out with friends, and I do seem to be in a better mood when the weather is sunny and warm.

Sounds about the same for me, except how I get to work; that doesn't vary. It's funny how everyone has their own idea of what "nice" weather is. I know people who love when it's cold, when it's really hot, raining, snowing, even people who love thunderstorms. I prefer when it's sunny and mild... not too hot or cold. It never seems like we have enough of those days!

Thanks for your reply. Hope the weather cooperates for your hike tomorrow!

Quite a heavy impact. I work outdoors much of the time.

I try to work outdoors as much as I can; when the weather is decent, at least. I feel badly for those who don't have a choice and have to work outside regardless of the weather.

    Thanks for responding! :)

  • It has a HUGE impact on me. Living on the side of a mountain at a semi-respectable altitude, it has it's challenges

Living on the side of a mountain sounds AMAZING! I've just been dreaming of owning a home in Colorado. Mountains and legal weed... sounds good to me!

    Thanks for your reply, Goat!

New Hampshire mountains - aren't those the ones that kill people?

  • Yep. lol

Sorry for laughing but it's funny that people don't realize that.  They aren't the biggest, but the problem is that the weather is so unpredictable and people underestimate the ruggedness of the White Mountains. They just don't realize that just 200 miles From Boston, they can die in a snap. Some of the worlds worst weather on top of Mt. Washington and the highest wind gust on earth was recorded, 231 mph

A lot Savvy. I lived in places like Boston,Buffalo,Wisconsin during winters, I went into depression without the sun ever shining for days together....now I'm glad I'm burning under California Sun;))

I enjoy having seasons, but I feel the same way about the lack of sunshine or ability to enjoy the outdoors. I sometimes feel guilty if I stay inside on a nice day; like I've squandered it or something!

Thanks for replying and enjoy that sunshine! :)

I only like rain. I love watching it and I love hearing it. The Sunshine is a bit depressing to me. The jury is still out on snow. This post was edited by Zack at September 4, 2021 5:03 PM MDT

I guess it makes a difference if you spend that sunshine day with someone.

Day after day after day after day of "beautiful" sunny, no-clouds weather (the only weather meteorologists call "beautiful") can bring me down emotionally.

Day after day of cloudy weather, for me, is ideal.

    :)

THIS is what I call beautiful:

A few clouds make the best rises and sunsets in my opinion. And when it's hotter than hell, clouds do help!

Old post here! Fun to look back!

Old post - - yup! I admit I was going through all of your questions from your profile.   :)

And hot weather? Ug. That's why I posted that "Statement" a while ago - -" I think I might need to move north for the summer"

    :)

I did that a while back after Randy was looking through my questions. I haven't deleted anything... yet. Ha!

I'm happy we're moving to one of my two favorite seasons! The extreme heat has subsided here for now, though it'll probably rear its ugly head again at least one more time this year!

    Enjoy the day!
